Patches for Bare Spots

Does anyone offer patches for bare spots? I would be happy with a little adhesive patch to absorb the wear at rub points.

On your seats?

Your paint?

Your head?

What are you talking about here?

Was about to move this to the "Lawn and Garden Section". Thanks for the clarification

Not under warranty ?

If it's to bolster existing fabric, I would consider taking it to a shop who specializes in fabric tops. There is a really good one on the Cape and some in your area. They should be able to stitch some "heal" fabric on the stress points of the top making it look OEM. No idea of the cost though.

Sorry, I did mean soft tops. It has been a popular topic here. Some posters talk about placing towels into their top as it folds. Mighty cumbersome. Can't we just reinforce the wear spots?

The dealership put some material in the wear spots for me, when I had the roof adjusted................didn't make a bit of difference I'm afraid.

When my top finally wears through (and if I still have the Mini) I'm just going to order a top from these guys minitops and get a local installer I know to put it on..........it's the same top and a lot cheaper than going through the dealer.

I love rag tops yet but timing is everything.......someday. From what I have seen over the years, rag top issues whether it be the rear glass or fabric has been an issue for about every manufacturer including MB.

Nice thing about a custom top....you can choose a color other than what is offered from the factory....I have seen some very cool custom color set ups out this way.

And if you have a seat farbricator to make some matching new leather seat covers/piping....all the better.

Yeah I know what you mean with the colors, I like the blue top with the hot orange paint that is on mine.......but when it finally wears through I think I'll pick a different color. But since my seats are blue and orange, well then I'll definitely have to do those over too.........and by then it'll be time for new rims...and then the new look will require new engine mods
