Darn its Cold... Glad I bought the convertible

Convertible in Wisconsin... what was I thinking.

The guy who invented heated seats deserves a raise!

For those of you who can't see picture, it says -11 F. Wonder what the wind-chill would be if I had the top down going 55mph.

All of you Cabrio owners with the top down at this time of year please keep us cold weather brothers in your thoughts.

One nice spring day of top down motoring will make up for this misery.

Sorry to hear that! I'm in Florida and it was cold here today (by our standards) only getting up to about 62 F. I didn't have to top all the way down, but I did use the "sunroof" and had my windows down a third of the way. I'm sure it will warm up in a day or two and I'll have the top back down. I will think happy thoughts for you bro!

I think your ears would be MIA! And maybe your face too!

Lowest temp with top down was in October on our road trip to NC. 31 with top down motoring. Lowest temp (top UP) was 23.

The "golden temperature" for us here is 77 during the day... cutoff point is usually below 68. Tried to do 43 degrees on Wednesday but it was too cold and we weren't as well dressed for it. No heated seats here. No windscreen either.

We'll be thinking of ya'!

This week we had frost on the top in the morning and sun and breeze in our hair by afternoon. Today is grey, but we're supposed to be back in the 70s - 80s by this weekend. Stay warm.

Good Lord!

Hardtop or Soft Top, when the temperature is -11, I'm not sure if it really makes any difference? That is freaking cold!

It is this time of year that I am reminded why I thirve in South Florida. Get in that soft-top of yours and head down here to thaw out !!!

When I make my occasional pilgrimage to Motorwerks MINI in Minneapolis I'm always amazed at the number of new Cabrios that they keep on their lot. I would have thought that the market would be pretty small in this part of the country, but that's obviously not the case.

Evidently there are plenty of upper-Midwesterners who enjoy topless motoring despite the extended sub-freezing season.

I went to Cars & Coffee at 7 a.m. this morning in Clearwater, FL. It was 40 F. That is really cold down here and I am not used to it. You'll be proud of me though. I drove with the top down, heated seat & heater on high. Great ride! Only thing is my hands took about 30 minutes to thaw out when I got home. I need to get some driving gloves I guess.

By the way, great turnout at Cars & Coffee, but I was the only MC there. Must have been 100 cars there! Lots of Ferarris, Vettes, S2000's, a couple of GTR's many Mercedes, BMW's, even about 4 Smart Cars, but only 1 Mini. I guess I need to let the local club know about this event.

I took the same picture, but we were only at -6 here in Northern Ohio. Lake Erie is nearly frozen so we'll be getting a bit less snow (Lake Effect stops when there isn't the open water to get moisture from).

On the other hand we had some pipes freeze and it doesn't look like we'll be above freezing for a week or so...

Oh well, I keep thinking only 90 more days and it will be April... (It gets a bit warmer then...

Man, I can definitely empathize, last week I was greeted with -14F in the morning when I turned mine on. It was so cold the tires sounded like I was was driving on aluminum foil. The good news is that one, the heater seems to keep up with this kind of cold just fine, and two, the engine seems a bit peppier (though a bit louder) due to the arctic intake air temps. Mileage sucks though.
