Stripes to Match Malt Leather Seats

I am thinking of doing malt stripes with white edges to match my malt leather seats with white piping. This is on a British Racing Green Cabrio. I am not color blind, but I am what you could call "color insensitive". So I need some opinions. Has anyone done malt/white stripes? What is your honest opinion. Thanks.

I think the color would look more orange next to the BRG of the body. I don't think I'd like it. But it's whether *you* like it that matters, of course.

Get a small sample mixed up at your hardware store, paint a strip of plastic or something similar, and see what it looks like.

I think I have pretty good sense when it comes to colors and matching them up.

Personally, I think BRG with that tone of brown would look FANtastic.

Of course, that green color in your cartoon MINI makes it hard to imagine since it's so far off from BRG in a flourescent kind of way.

It looked good on the Sidewalk that chased us all the way from Road America to Schaumburg. I'm sure the guys are around here somewhere, I know I've seen pictures of this car before (or one a lot like it)...

Not if you like the attention.

Get COOPERation to do one for you, if you really want to change it. He's really good.

I did black with white and malt pin stripes on my sparkling silver. It looks fantastic! (And that's not just my opinion.lol) Some thought I should have done the malt brown as the wide center stripe with white and black pin stripes but I think my way looked better. Especially if I need to have the top up and no one can see the seats! I'll post pics when I get home tonight.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Did you apply the stripes yourself or who did them? Did you have to custom order the malt color? So far, the places I inquired, to get malt stripes I will have to custom order the color and pay for the whole roll, enough to do 4 cars' bonnets and boots. They will send me the rest of the roll, though, so I might get creative with some side decals, perhaps.

I went to a local guy here in Jacksonville, Fred at Thunder Road FX. I'm told he's the one who the dealership uses, also. It never occurred to me that he might not have the color til I got in there. Fortunately he had what he called a "copper" color which I think matches the malt brown leather perfectly. Otherwise he said he could have had it made but it wouldn't have been as nice and would have cost a bit more. I think they look great. Anyway, here are some pics:

I have a sidewalk with malt leather and silver-white paint. It has 2 pinstripes, one matches the brown seats, the other is very thin black. They look awesome. I think I would like the malt on the BRG also. Go for it!

j3kidford,

A special thanks for the nice pics. You are right, the black stripes look best on your silver MINI. It is a better look with the top up, than a malt color. I think with my BRG color car the black stripes would get lost. Have a great day.

I think I probably agree with you. When I looked at my pics I realized my car was a lot lighter than yours would be. I'm sure your car's will look great. You gotta love that malt brown and BRG together!
