Warning Light on Center Speedometer Help

Enjoying a drive yesterday evening, going through a corner a little bit spirited and just happened to catch out of the corner of my eye a red/orange light come on for a breif moment on the center speedometer. I think it was the second from the bottom on the right hand/side set of round warning lights, but could have been the third from the bottom. The second one would be a low air pressure warning light for the tire(s), correct? Anyone had this happen to them before? The light came on during the hardest part of the cornering and went right back out. It was a tight uphill 270 degree right hand turn about 25/30 mph. Didn't get time to check the tire pressure to see where they were. Anybody shed some light on this for me.

Sounds like the DSC light if it was on for only a moment. Turn the DCS off and the light will come on and stay on. See if this is the light you saw.

My DSC light is in the bottom of the center speedo 6 o'clock. This light was about at the 2 o'clock position on the speed o. But thanks.

I've caught a glimpse of lights flickering on the speedo during tight curves - if it was not the DSC, my working theory is the door ajar light, thinking that my substantial frame was probably leaning on the drivers door in the right turn.... Maybe?

That would make sense. The low tire pressure light activates when the sensors detect a sudden and marked dirrerence between one tire's rotation relative to anothers (it does not actually sense air pressure). So, during a hard corner, if a tire leaves the road, even briefly, the sensor may indicate.

Damn, I guess I'm a nerd! Checked the psi in the tires today. 3 @ 29lbs and 1 @ 26 lbs. I guess I need to get them to 35 lbs. No wonder it rides fairly comfortable. Somebody ought to take my keys away from me for a week.

The tire pressure warning light will not extingush after it lights until you reset the sensor. In fact you will probably have to reset it the first time you drive after you air up your tires. It does not notice the slow leak that is the eventual outcome of using compressed air to fill a tire.

The tire indicator is the second from the bottom on the right, the one above it is the door/bonnet/boot ajar indicator. I could not make out what the bottom one on the right is. I would speculate that you had a momentary door ajar light, caused by some body flex as you went around the corner.

One of the middle lights on my chrono pack (don't know what it corresponds to on the standard speedo...) is the door ajar light. Mine was coming on during hard acceleration and cornering - which if you're paying attention will also turn on the interior dome and footwell lights... in my car this was due to the known boot plunger switch problem... sticking a little rubber bumper on the inside of the boot to depress the switch more fixed that - the dealer has a replacement switch with a longer plunger under warranty - but they forgot to do it the last time Blimey was in...

The top was down, and it was quite a transition it was going through. Thanks to all about the possible cause. Love NAM/MINI!

UP- Date Found it and cause

The warning light is for the boot open, although it is not. With the top down for some reason it is more apt to appear. Just a little jiggle of the boot, and the light comes on, or a slight push on it and it goes off. Annoying at the least. Put a sticky pad on the inside of the boot to bush it all the way closed untill I get in to have it replaced, supposedly a TB on it.
