Haven't used in on the Mini, but I did use Redline Water Wetter on a '66 Mustang that tended to run a bit hot. It lowered the temp enough to be safe.

If your car isn't running hot I see no need to put that in your radiator. If you're chasing a heating problem, then sure give it a shot.

I've used it in the past & could tell zero difference. YMMV.

Being in Texas where summers are HOT I use it. Can I tell a difference, don't know as I've never not used here. I figure it can't hurt, besides it keeps the economy running if I buy a bottle a year.

Doing my part to keep America great!!

Yeah broken link, I have used the Water wtter stuf but I did not see the benefits maybe it was because I had the M7 180 thermostat and the Scoop, but being in the Island it got HOt quick with the wetter stuff I eventually changed it to AMSOIL's product and seen no differance.

I use in racing go-kart engines all the time. I have seen direct results of 3-7 degrees. Is that huge in terms of street numbers. NO. In racing though it makes a huge difference.

Testing was done by running kart on track logging temps. Come in an remove 1 oz. of water and and 1 oz. of water wetter. Go back out and log more temps. Stopped time was 30 seconds tops. After a couple of laps to mix through the system the temps were lower.

I forgot to add. We are limited on radiator size so we are pushing the system 100% all the time.

Latte,
Thanks for fixing/rescueing the link. The Miata magazine used to swear by WW and I ran it for years in my MX5 for the hot spot issue noted above. We ran it in our vintage Bugeye as do lots of racers with a slight decease in temp. I've been going to put it in my '03 MCS next time I flush the sys. IMHO it can't hurt...

Last vehicle I used it in promptly ate a head gasket. Probably not related.

I use it in my CBR600RR and it works great. I don't know about a lower temp, but it's required for track to not have standard coolant.

I've used it in bikes and it made a good difference. One in particular REALLY liked it. Triumph Daytona that was running really hot. Texas gets warm in the summer if you hadn't heard

It's also good for track use. Normal anti-freeze is a no-no. Very slippery. Pure water isn't good for motor internals. WW is anti-corrosion.

I think that if the cooling system is "up to the task" (i.e. the radator is circulating properly and is large enough, the pump is working and the thermostat is opening when it should), then there is no noticeable difference between using the stuff and not. But if there is a problem, or the ambient temperature is so high that the cooling system can't keep up, then Water Wetter may be the difference between blissful ignorance and recreating "Old Faithful" at a red light.

yeah, its only really useful for cooling systems operating very close to oir above their capacity. This is why bikes respond well to it, as most of them are designed to cool using some of the airflow at speed, and heat up a lot when you just idle them for a while. The mini has more than adequate cooling though, and won't benefit too much from it

It also helps cavitation. Small bubbles that's always in the liquid get really agitated and turn to big bubbles. The pump stopped working as well. Things get hotter. Another reason why it might have helped my bike-the design of the water pump might affect how much benefit you'd get.
