I use premium per manual.

I've heard that high octane (aviation fuel) is a kick but I haven't tried it.

I guess because of the high compression on the standard Cooper and the supercharger on the S, premium is the only way to go. It's not like it's a real burden with the mileage the cars get. And it is what the factory specs call for.

I have used Shell and Chevron, premium 91, haven't noticed any difference.

I'm planning to try 76 but can't find a convenient location.

I use Tesoro most of the time but have also used Shell, 76 and one tank of Brand X.

Always 91 octane! I haven't noticed any difference by brand.

You'll want to use the highest octane unleaded premium available. DON'T use aviation fuel. Even the aviation fuel that is consider 'low lead' is very high in lead content. This will cause more problems than you'll care to deal with.

Don't know the brand, but whatever premium fuel (91 octane) Costco has.
