MINI Hits the New York Times
Here's a link to a story in the New York Times:

Who has heard of the Traveller?
And how come we MINI owners are so damned COOL?
I ask ya.

Well, as usual, they spelled MINI, "Mini."
And they said the new 2008 will have six airbags instead of 4. North America has always had the 6 airbags as standard equipment, but it is my understanding that European MINIs have had 4, with the extra 2 as options.
Nice to read a mention of the upcoming Traveller.

You know, I try to post a nice story about the MINI and some loser has to mock the paper from which it comes. Typical.
Sorry. No offense meant. Its just, as a writer, I tend to be a little critical of that particular publication.

The interesting thing I noted in the article is that it is all about the 2007 MINI but ALL of the production line photos are showing 2006 (or earlier) models rolling by. I recall that there was one stock photo of a 2007 bonnet with the new lights.
It was cool though to see a production line photo of cabrios rolling by at an early stage of assembly - with not much more than the body fitted out.

I'm still madly in love with my '03S, but its always fun to see what's in the works.
ROFLMAO,
Check out this quote for poor factual accuracy
"The modern incarnation of the swinging 1960’s car, originally designed in 1959 by Sir Alex Issigonis (as an homage to John Cooper, the famed race designer), became an industry darling in Japan, Europe and especially the United States, where Mini barely made an impression in its early years. Although it remained on the market for more than 30 years in its native Britain, only 20,000 Minis were sold over more than three decades in the United States."
Originally designed as an homage to John Cooper???!!!!
Minis sold over three decades in the United States???!!!!!
Stephen Glass, have you returned to the Times as an editor??!!!!
