Visor on passenger side?

I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer to this.

On our Minis, there's the cool visor right above the side window on the driver's side. On the passenger's side, there's an "oh sh*t!" handle.

My wife is constantly smacking her head against that handle while getting in. I'm wondering, since the bolts for both the handles and the visor look to be about the same distance apart, if it would be possible to buy another visor from the dealer and mount it in place of the handle.

Has anyone ever tried this?

Wouldn't it be simpler to have your wife just lower her seat?

I believe the positions of these two items are swapped on RHD cars, so there shouldn't be a problem. If the RHD visor part is different though, getting it might be a problem.

No. She only hits her head while entering the car, so changing the seat height wouldn't help. Once she's in, it's not a problem. Plus she'd actually use the visor. She never uses the handle.

Another suggestion... get the visor CD holders to cover-up the baby-seat warnings on the driver and passenger front visors. Cost about $12 each at your Mini dealer. They look vastly superior to the warning labels. Especially if you have anthracite headliner (as I do) those warning labels seem to be the first thing you see when you enter the car. Not anymore, at least not on my Mini.

I haven't seen one in the various Mini catalogs, but does someone make a more useful visor replacement, for both the front and driver side visors? I find them far too short. I'd gladly replace the silly vanity mirror for one that was "segmented" and slid apart, like the one on my Jeep.

Also, since I have the chrono pack and the speedo and the tach are column-mounted, does anyone make a cool-looking "hood" to shield/cover them, so they don't get washed out from low-angle sun coming in through the side windows? I end up cupping my hand around them to block light when I want to read them.
