Wiper squirter misbehaving

So my wiperfluid squirters have started seemingly oozing fluid onto my bonnet - it looks as if its coming from underneath the squirter itself.

anyone else have this? anyone have a fix?

could it be the m7 stb pusing up on them from beneath through the insulation?

not a big big deal, but its sort of sad looking.

I thought the same thing on my 2006, until I figured it resulted from opening the hood and leaving it up for an extended period. The fluid runs downhill and onto the hood.

What I have come to the conclusion is, mine only does this when it is very hot outside and I have driven for a while to get the engine bay hot. That's when it occurs on mine.

Exactly same with me. This is very annoying. When I took it to the dealer to get a fix, they just said to dilute it with water because it was over concentrated. Didn't seem to help

Well my MCS suddenly would squirt anymore but with the bonnet open I saw it was dribbling fluid from the inside, i inspected the fittings connecting the hose to the squirter and that was the problem I had the squirters replaced under warranty the next week when my car was going in for some other things.

My findings

I have had to take a pin to open up the clogged holes on all 3 squirters a few times...UNTIL I stopped using the BMW fluid. (there are other posts on this....seems to clog the squirters more than el cheapo blue stuff available at wally world or Kragen...No problems since! Many have suggested draining out the OEM stuff and replacing it...I followed their advice using a syphon!

Its cosmoline, the stuff they spray the cars with to protect them from rust as they cross the atlantic.

it builds up in the wildsheild squirters, trim badges and rear wiper area.

its very hard to get off and can stain, (also ruin bonnet stripes) it takes a while to get it all out from all the tiny cracks it hides in. Its more noticable on lighter colored cars such as PW.

there has been other threads disscussing this. Try searching for cosmoline.

you can use some zaino or Mcquires(sp?) scratch-X i believe to get it off. It may take some "elbow greese" to remove it.

Hope all works out.

Edit: here is a link to another thread talking about this, please read post #21

if you're in a area that won't freeze, just use distilled water.

All three nozzles have been dripping like this since the car was new (May). PIA to say the least. Doesn't seem to have stained.
