That's a bit of a ridiculous statement, don't you think? You'd be a fool to spring for anything in between a $17k-base Cooper and $26-base JCW S? That's nine grand, for crying out loud.

I'm a bit suspicious of the over-the-top glowing tone of the review, saying that $7500 CND is a "bargain" for this kit. I'm no mod expert, but just from what I've read here in the past six months, "bargain" seems like a stretch. More convenient, and warranteed, maybe, but I don't know about it being a bargain.

I just got my Autoweek today and here is that artical. A bit more realistic, but still glowing! I was hearing $6,000 installed and they are saying $4,500. I wonder how true that is?

From Autoweek:

"In fact, this is by far the best tuning kit I have ever tested, and the first that is, in every way, better than the stock unit it supposedly enhances. You would be an absolute fool to decide to opt for the extra poke of the Cooper S over the base Cooper and not spring for the Works edition. So equipped, the Mini Cooper S is the best hot hatch on the planet and the car it should have been all along."

This is insane. 5000 USD (7500 CD) is a heck of an upgade. This makes the car close to 30K with packages. Hardly a bargain... I love the MINI but the new "R32" by VW would kick the JCW MCS and would cost less, and AWD. The Evolution VIII is under 30 and seats 4 comfortably, and although not a hatchback, it packs a punch!

The are going to need to drop the price of the JCW S package for me to even consider it.

Lack talent? Simple cure, insult a conservative! It works for the New York Times, why not Canada.
