Anyone know who this is? Taken at the April GT Live event at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. Cool to see Checkmates on the track.

Do they make the Checkmates race with the bike rack on - kind of as an equalizer?

Cool shot - I like the checkered sunroof too...

i'm pretty sure i saw your checkmate sitting on that side road next to the vendor area.

cuz i remember seeing the checkmate and then the jcw. and i only knew of one other one from CT, so i'm pretty sure it was you.

and i remember meeting you on the MTTS run from DC

nice shots. i like em. i see you got a shot of Checkmate's Checks as well. Mine was parked up near the lodge, since I was hanging out with the people that were running the event.

I'm sure you saw me at one point, just prolly didn't realize it was me.
If you were at the farewell banquet, i was there helping out.

Hi

I'm looking to have 4 spot lights fitted to my Checkmate, but would like to see a picture of one with them on. Further up this thread I have seen the Checkmate with the 4 large lights fitted below the grill, but wanted to see a picture of them fitted conventionally to the grill. can Anyone point me at some pictures?

Cheers

Maybe it would be easier to look for a car in your color, not specifically a Checkmate. Viper stripe might be tougher to find also.

There should be a lot of cars with the light configuration you want. A search in the NAm gallery might produce a lot of hits.

Good luck.

I saw myself today, haha!

Pulling out of a gas station I saw Kramers twin in the turn lane I was headed for. Pulled up next to her, she was surprised too. We exchanged compliments on what good taste in cars we had.

Makes the rest of the day cool.

Great story . I'd love to find my twin motoring around somewhere. I know the dealership here ordered mine and one other DS Checkmate, but don't know how many were built total.

A friend of mine has what I consider to be CheckBeast's twin as he is a Checkmate Works too. Mine is the one on the right!

Recent photos with new painted arches

I just had my arches painted. I love the look on a checkmate. I also added painted cowl vents.

looks like you're almost my twin, by the looks of it you have the JCW spoiler. Not many people have that. And I thought I was the only one.

You fiorget! I acknowledged that your car inspired us a fair bit with the mods we have done to our car a long while back. The spoiler really suits the Checkmate and we think the silver sideskirts which match the roof work well too.

perhaps yours is the only Checkmate with a JCW spoiler in the US and mine the only one in Europe?

Fun with Checks....

I did this for the PVGP a couple weekends ago, some liked it, I just did it to be a little different... cut a few 2"x2" squares from silver decal material and, well, the rest is in the pictures. Had to try to extend the OE checks, then blow them off a bit, let me know what you think, they're easily removable and it was 1/2 hour's work, so my feelings won't be hurt! I'm undecided on the effect, perhaps with more thought as to the "blowing off" pattern than just the random positioning it'd look better... open to thoughts...

Nice job Dixon. I've been wondering how to extend the checkmate theme as well.

One thing I will do is get aero side skirts and extend the checkers down. Ultimately, I want to do a checks-to-flames theme.

My visual mods are starting soon with old skool pinstriping on the interior. Its gonna be excellent.

I like the checks to flames idea... kind of a faded effect would be way cool. I've already taken the graphics off except for the first row onto the door (my wife liked THAT row...)

(what, some 4 hours after posting the first pics?)

Hey - it's only vinyl!

I'm new to the forum, but I've had Milly (space blue, checkmate, cooper) for about a year now. I love driving her and am crazy about keeping her clean. Does anybody use Griot's products and have any comments?

Dixon I really like how that looks, reminds me of a club members cars roof.

Finally got some vinyl swatches to match my DS. I am planning on checkerboarding the top around the sunroof in dark silver metalic.

I use the Griot's products. The Puget Sound Mini club goes to Griot's shop 2 or 3 times a year for a demo on Mini car care. We all load up on the stuff. It's kind of pricey, put does a great job.
