Woofer

I dont have my MINI yet, but from what ive heard the woofer isnt all that thrilling. I occasionally listen to rap and would like to know how well it can keep up. If anyone knows any aftermarket woofers that will fit well in a mini trunk and are compatible with the hk system, that would also be helpful.

i run a BassLink by Infinity. everyone that's been in my car
has been impressed with my stereo system... big clean sound, but only
a few hundred dollars put in.

im running a Polk DB525 in the front, the sub as above, and stock HU.
i added a MP3 player and factory aux jack along with CD changer (with Blitzsafe).

you can hit my info page for more info.

The factory HK speaker upgrade has a suprising amount of base for not having a separate powered subwoofer. You wont be waking up the neighbors with it but it is pretty satisfying

If you're using the H/K system, I attached an aftermarket sub into the amp without splitting wires.

I did a whole DIY write up here:
http://www.geekshocker.com/Claire/audio/ampInstall.php

This is what it looks like now, after I made the custom peg board floor. (12in sub, amp under the false floor)

This is the box I used. Walmart comes through again! It's a PERFECT fit in the boot.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Might try asking this in Nav & Audio forum for a better response; Also take a look at the "show your Sub. install" thread for some ideas, compact and not.

However, if you want the booty bumpin', chest thumping, rear-view-shakin'en bass... then get the extra amp and sub, cause the H/K won't take you that far.
