Another reason MINIs rock - horror story
I was in traffic and the raised suburban in front of me didnt see me directly behind him because he was so stupidly large. He stupidly puts it in reverse and starts backing up right into me and I frantically reach for the horn as MINITOR's life flashes before his headlights. The truck hears and slams on his brakes. My MINI never moved or jolted though, how could that be? It looked like he was on top of me. I jump out to see what had happened and when I peered around the front, the suburban's bumper AND trailer hitch completely cleared my hood and were sitting a few inches above it, no contact whatsoever and no damage.
Only a MINI.
Only a MINI.

That's got to be a great feeling of relief
Similar thing happened to my wife and I when we were waiting in line for the touchless car wash (outcome wasn't as good). The guy in front of us in an Acura overshot the payment kiosk and reversed straight back without checking his mirrors (how could he miss a car with Xenons fired up right behind him?) and into the front of our brand new car.
I was set to pummel him (juvenile reaction, I know, but I was sorely pissed)but luckily he accepted responsibility and paid up for the damage (around $500 for minor scratches). That "new car" feeling quickly evaporated

I do suffer from road rage and usually do find myself yelling and giving hand gestures out the sunroof now that it is warmer, but I think I was amazed and a little amuzed by the odd juxtaposition of it all. It was a perfect fit, like pacman chomping down on me. The driver looked back shocked like any suburban driving idiot would, hoping that he hadnt crushed something or someone (like he would even notice), and I actually shrugged my shoulders and gave him the thumbs up to let him know that know damage was done. Not my usual response, I have been know to reach out of my window and punch taxi's at times.

Glad Minitor escaped this round without a scratch. I think it more shows the power of the Minitor. By its namesake, there's no way it was gonna lose against a dumb Chevy. Where there's a will, there's a way. Great name!

Somebody already made the pasting joke Not laughing at you. I think it's funny when stuff like that comes out in an ironic way.

I didnt find the stock horn agressive. And when one of the two horns blow out it sounds like a moped horn, pretty sad. I replaced mine with the Wolo "Big Rig Long Horn", so when I honk it sounds like a 6 piece horn section blaring. You should've seen the horror in that woman's eyes this morning who backed out in front of me when I was going about 40mph. Those looks are priceless, especially when the horn is combined with screeching brakes. People in Seattle sure drive stupid. I wonder how much accidents have increased since cell phones?
