Mini Front Badge Question...........

Guys, I have an 05 Chili Red MINI, the front badge on the bonnet has a large SCRATCH across the word "MINI", I would like to try and remove just the center portion (leaving the "wings" portion if the badge on the car. Does anyone know if the center portion is removable, or is the whole thing one piece? If the center is removable, has anyone done this?........and how did you remove it? I was possibly thinking of removing it and painting it Chili Red...........and help greatly appreciated Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's one piece.

The MINI logo is held on with double sided tape and its one piece. Be very careful when removing the badge you dont scratch the paint. I removed mine so the stripes I added could run underneath. Not to hard but it is a little nerve racking. Good Luck.

Why not have something made to fit out of auto vinyl? You can have anything you want between those wings then!

Is the front badge held on only with tape, or are there holes under the badge to keep it in place? I could remove the whole thing and fix it up offf the car. Might be easier that way..........thanks guys

Take some tooth floss and run it under the badge really slowly. This should separate the badge from the car and lessen the damage. A little glue may be left behind, but then you can just throw some goo-be-gone on it and should be nice and new. Are you going to order a replacement? No mini is complete without the front badge

Well, I used dental floss to remove the badge, underneath it are 3 holes in the bonnet . 2 of them are locating holes for the badge, the center hole is just there! The badge definately goes back on, major body work to fill, sand and repaint. Vinyl graphic seems to be the best shot at this time. Just a note, the rear badge also has 2 locating pins and if removed will leave 2 holes in the rear deck. the badges are also 1 piece, the center "MINI" is not a removable disc. Thanks guys for all your help and suggestions.......
