Good for parts? Wonder if this one is fixable. I'm not really thinking of buying but find it interesting to look at. <grin>

Did they start the car without the radiator? Check out the tach, the engine is idling.

The driver's side of the chassis spar looks intact. Can't tell if the passenger side is tweeked or not. If both spars are intact then I don't see why it can be repaired. But the cracked windshield may be it's death knell.

I think you're right when you think of it from a parts perspective. Not to overstate the obvious, but since it has a Salvage Title, its value will always be way below any other MINI - even if it were to made "like new", its value will be crippled. Its a big YMMV thing, but I've seen salvage cars on eBay, that have been fixed up, sell for half what an equivalent non-salvage title car would be (same year, model, & features).

Still, its an interesting photo montage and I enjoyed checking it out.

:( Poor mini. the rest of it looks like it is in great condition.

I see plenty of parts than could be useful. I thought the "service engine soon" light was funny ya think?

With the computer controls, I doubt it would have been actually started, but it it was, it won't hurt the car if it's only for moment. You could probably let the car idle for up to 5 minutes without the radiator. After all, it doesn't really start circulating until it reaches a certain temp, anyway.

What scares me is that the car was totaled. It looks like a loaded (CVT, Nav, etc) Cooper and yet the car had to be salvaged. I know we have no idea as to the condition of the chassis, but from initial appearance, it doesn't look that bad.

I love that my MINI will crumple and protect me, I just fear a wreck like this that totals the car.

Personally, with any kind of reck I would rather them total it and let the insurance take the hit than me later on when I want to sell it. It will always have diminish value if they give it back to you all fixed up.
