Going to sign the papers tomorrow...

…and I’m wondering if I am forgetting anything.

I was told I would (finally) receive my production number so I can stalk MINIUSA for the next month or so (I was given a delivery date of May 3).

I’ve also forwarded my preferences for the dealer-programmable options (DRLs, speed-locking, etc.).

Am I forgetting anything? Will I get my owner’s manual or any fun stuff? Should I ask for free floor mats tomorrow or when the car is delivered? Anything? Thanks!

I'd ask for free floor mats and anything else I wanted to take a shot at before I signed the papers.

Congrats! You'll be in pain for the next month or so waiting for your baby, but in the end it's all worth it!!!!! BTW, my dealer (Mini of Mountain View) offered me mats and that big freakin' cup holder (that gets in the way of most everything and isn't even that good at holding drink!)... if they offer the same switch out the cup holder for a glovebox organizer: much more useful IMHO
And get EVERYTHING in writing! Good luck and happy motoring

The cupholder isn't standard?

Not to my Knowledge... my dealer made a BIG deal out of the fact that they were GIVING me this great thing... hmmmph They made a BIG deal of how much it costs. I really find it useless! (IMHO) And now that I've installed the euro parcel shelf I don't even use it to hold my cell phone and wallet. I'd really like to take it off, but it seems to be glued(?) as well as screwed to the side pillar.... oh well.

The pillar mounted cupholder is standard on all 05s and newer.. (I think it started with Jan 05 production).

Your dealer was yanking your chain - was it Elvis perhaps? He's the only MA I'd met there and could see him BSing you for the fun of it.

Yes the big cupholder on the down tube is standard. Has been a part of the car since 2005.

nethack got ripped off!. Must have been one of those looser west coast charge more than MSRP dealers.

It has 2 pieces of double side tape holding it along with the screws. Give it a toug and it comes off. Then clean the down tube with some WD 40 to get rid of the gooe.

You will notice with the double sided tape gone you can flip it over and then mount the big cup holder on the opposite side for Right side drive MINIs

When I put in the new switch unit for the rear fog I thought that I'd take it off. It didn't come off and I figured that instead of struggling with it I'd just buy a new pillar and replace the whole thing. Pillar is on order.

Regarding being ripped off: if I'd only known about NAM before going to the dealer I might have saved my self a whole bunch of trouble... I also would have ordered from East Bay Mini which DOESN'T tack on a surcharge. The cup holder they said was free.... big deal.

But who cares? This is the only car I've owned where when driving I don't whish for ANY other car.... even if I had the money! If I had the money I'd have two minis
