Ex-Brit, Now a Southern Yank (if there's such a thing)?

Looking forward to my MCS deliverivery in April'03. CR + Aero, R90s, Sports + Union Jack. After discovering this site wondering about sun-roof + aftermarket, made for sun roof, Union Jack. Any advise?

Vanity - how about "Ol Chap" ....

Cooper Flags has, I believe, exactly the combination you are looking for with their perforated decals. Union Jack over a sunroof. Look in the "Sponsers."

I will not order my MINI with the sunroof because of the weight of the roof. It adds about half of what I weigh myself!! ha.ha.ha! So I figure if I am going to be sitting in it, I'd best give myself the weight difference so the horsepower isn't effected.

I have a sunroof now, Honda Accord 2-Door Coup, and I never open it because it gets me and the inside of the car covered in dust and dirt - yuck!!!

Too bad about the TX dirt/dust ... I love my sunroof both on our Accord Coupe and on my MINI. It's my trade-off for not having a convertible. I've seen others mention the weight though. Do you know what the difference in weight is?

Because there isn't a full screen covering the inside of the sunroof I've read that it can be very difficult to coooooooooooool the interia of the car if you live in HOT climates?

Additionally, weight could be a problem if you intend to do any track work?

I dunno, maybe because you said, "After discovering this site wondering about sun-roof + aftermarket, made for sun roof, Union Jack. Any advise?"

Or did you want a solid Union Jack fitted over the sunroof that blocked out the sun?

The couple I spoke to today said they had gone to a commercial grahics shop and had their design made without the perfs. They made it sound as if they knew it wasn't recommended but it worked for them ???

I have a sunroof in my current MC, but my new MCS (pick up next week) does not have a sunroof - I was not happy with being unable to block the light (at night for example). Plus I wanted a roof flag.

Like you I lived in England till 1996 and want a full union jack - not the MINI one, but the one that reaches right to the edge of the roof.
Bought mine from Randy at http://www.mini-motorsport.com/ but the flag is the cooperflags product; Randy has it on his own car.

Finding someone to fit it took a bit of work, but hopefully the install will go OK.

Move to Oregon. The sunlight at night here is pretty much indistinguishable from darkness. Can't speak for the rest of the U.S., however. YMMV. HTH.

Lol, what part of the south you live in? I can't imagine any of them taking to kindly to being refered to as "Yanks" Us true Yankees live in the north and north east.

I'd kinda like to get an english flag for my rear window, not one of those huge ones, just a small one and a small american flag to go with it.
