Exhaust piping questions

I want to get a magnaflow exhaust tips and cut the stock muffler. Does anyone know the size of the pipe to get? And should I stick with 3" dual pipes? I don't want to go any bigger if I will lose power from the tips. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think the size of the stock exhaust is 2.25". Believe people say to stay in the 2.25"-2.75" diameter range. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Some good info here. If you want 3" tips you're fine as the tips by themselves don't effect anything.
