Did I mention that Harbor Freight has gauges that almost match the Mini gauge face? Their boost gauge was well under $20... and has multi-color-capable LED lighting.

Ya buddy! I have 2 of them. Oil temp and oil pressure! They look almost exactly like my Stewart Warner gauges! Only sad part is there is no orange led color, so I use red instead, which at night is good, bc they sit on my dashboard, and red isn't blinding like all the other colors

Sorry guys, but they don't make the oil gauges anymore! I managed to find one on accident, and the other on eBay, again, on accident! But they do have volts and boost!

How about a Lateral Sun Visor Extension made out of vertical blinds.

Functional and cheap!

OEM Intercooler Air Diverter Mod

A simple mod for the OEM intercooler air diverter on the MINI Cooper S...no additional horsepower, GUARANTEED!

I did this one many years ago, and it is pretty simple...all you need is some <insert color of your choice> enamel paint, a small brush, and a steady hand to paint the 'S' on the intercooler air diverter. Adds a nice touch of color under the bonnet.

I have obviously stuck with a red theme, and over the years I have added other touches of red under the bonnet (intercooler couplers, radiator hoses, MSD coil pack), but people (even other MINI owners who know what the stock air diverter looks like) still ask about the intercooler air diverter.

Thinking of adding some "led bling" to the mini...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380176389715...84.m1438.l2649
These are cool, bc they turn off when it's light out, and when the car stops, and stay ON while the tire is spinning, vs blinking

And these in black with amber LEDs

I've seen some guys do that on motorcycles. Aside from the bling factor, it makes them more noticeable from the side -- safety first! ;-)

I had blue ones on my celica for a while. They blinked, and went off during the day too, so I think these have pretty neat features, hence the nearly astronomical price for them.

It was funny, people driving beside me Always said one of 2 things: That's cool! Or, That's Stupid! Lol. Pretty easy to read lips when they only say 2 words! It was about 50/50 with reactions.

Bumping this thread... I'm looking for pics of wheels with black appliance paint. I don't have the funds for powdercoating and think I may do my S-heavies.. not much to add here but i did get rid of the stickrbomb belt line. currently going with tape and a red pinstripe.. I kind of like it. I don't really dig the whole thing red but just a line is nice.. it was 2 lines and i just peeled one off.

Try black plasti dip. If you screw up or don't like it, it should just peel right off!

Appliance paint is a nice, durable high gloss spray paint - that said, for wheels, plasti-dip may work really well as it's both removable, tough, and now available with a gloss over-spray layer.

First time I've heard of appliance paint. You think its more durable than wheel paint, or spray caliper paint?

I'd say probably not. It's not designed or marketed for outdoor use, though when I've used it for appliances, it's worked well. I also used it to successfully paint the vents on my old c/f hood on my Masdaspeed Protege (predecessor to the Mazdaspeed3, only more insane and less powerful, but I digress). Held its' shine for the 2 years I had it in the weather.

Decided I couldn't take the ugly black soot issue any more. The stock Justa single exhaust doesn't look too bad when it is clean, but most of the time it looks like the second photo with black soot dipping out like a flooded two-stroke!

Last week I picked up a 3" ID - 3.5" OD dual wall SS exhaust tip that was made to be welded to 2.5" SS exhaust pipe. I'd been looking for a 3" ID - 4" OD to help fill the arch cutout, but settled for what I found for a cool twenty-spot.

I was going to mount it the way it is designed to be installed by cutting off the tapper and cutting back the outer dual layer so I had room for set screws, but after looking at it's shape I kind of liked the tappered look inside the larger outer circle. Plus I'm guessing the soot won't venture over the rounded up edge as easily, so it will stay clean better too; all the while giving the exhaust on my Justa a unique one of a kind larger custom look.

First I painted the stock tip and the inside of the new tip black with VHT Flame Proof exhaust paint.

Then I mounted it backwards with three set screws underneith through both layers of the new tip and just the outer layer of the stock tip. This is the final result.

I like the new unique look. Hope it stays cleaner than the OEM soot drooller. I know it will be easier to clean because I only have to wipe the outside off now.

$20 dorky exhaust tip!

Any cheap fixes for my shifter ****? I love the size and shape, it also feels a bit heavy which really just fits my hands.

BUT, the leather wrap has peeled a bit and the chrome is pitted a bit. I'd like to keep the R-6 if possible or else I'd probably just plasti-dip it.
