R50/53 Dorky cheapskate modification
I don't know if this was posted before but I have a modification that is FREE and you DON'T had to make any modifications to your car!!
The passenger foot well fits a large pizza box essentially perfectly. Just move the seat back to allow the box to be put in the foot well on the floor at a gradual angle (don't need to pizza sliced on itself in the box.)

You might want to check in your state but I believe tinting headlights is illegal. You might be setting yourself up for a ticket.
LethalR53 is from South Africa, but regardless you are right about checking.
Someone earlier in this post made a request for another "should have been a factory mod" for cheap. Good news! Ive found one!
Depending on how much you want to do, this can cost $1 - $6.
Lowes or HD should have these parts in their little parts drawers of "hard to find" things. Go get at least 1 pack of #10 Hinged Screw Covers, and 2-4 packs of the #6 screw covers.
Get your torx drive and a philips head and your covers and go to town!

Remove the torx screws on your front pillars, one at a time. Take the screw cover and gently close it, but not all the way. Next, holding the cover with care screw the screw into the cover. Be sure not to damage the hinge of the cover. After you get the screw to seat fully into the cover, re-insert the screw into the pillar.
For the front pillar screws, I didnt tighten them all the way, but maybe 90%. Then close the screw cover. Do the bottom, then the top. I only used 1 cover on the driver side, lower screw.

Next, you can do the hatch. Use the small #6 (or the #4/6 as seen in the above pic). again, just go to town, one at a time using the same method as before. *if you bend the hinge 90 degrees after its on the screw, this will be enough to put everything back without the hinge breaking off.

Have a look here for a DIY off-center plate holder!

LOVE this mod (thanks to joe_bfstplk, his pic!). Did this last night, easy peasy lemon squeezy... cost $0 for white plastic paint as primer as it was left over from another project, $0 for red paint (same deal), and perhaps $0.002 worth of sandpaper usage...
I take it you have a child or children, since your quoting tickety toc.... hahahhaa. I have a 2yr old daughter.

hmmmm
So where does one find out how to do this exactly?? I searched the boards, but haven't really found much. It wasn't earlier in this thread was it, that maybe I just missed.......

Considering the source, it may well have been a reference to something else....

C ya,
Dutch

Good Call, didn't realize the whole Austin Powers deal, because I'm so used to hearing that daily with my daughter... haha... knowing this now - that's probably where he was quoting from now that you said it.. makes a lot more sense. Sorry DixonL2... My bad!
Now that it has been a few months, How is the stripe holding up?

So today, I got to spend a quality time with my mini!
Just like you guys, I love DIY mods!
So I was thinking what should I do to my baby today and decided to do
something that NO ONE has ever done! (at least none by cheap dorky people!
)
I don't know if anyone has tried this but I thought it was cool!
Totally impromptu...
So, here is my creation,
Enjoy~
$6 plasti dip paint x2 + $3 3M painter's tape + $0 little bit of talent
= $15 black out and a custom hood stripe.
Coolest looking stripe... cuz I designed it. =)
no measurements done so I don't know how thick the stripes are...
thin one is about 1 inch that I know!

Black out Chrome stuff.

Like it?
all for $15

You ever notice a difference in anything with this mod? I started on one similar, got side tracked, haven't been back to it since.
