I have a VIN Number!!!! YEAY!

WMWRC33413TC45410

the weather here in Boston has taken a turn towards spring this week and I am dying for 15! Unfortunately, i also just got my first big tax bill $10,000! and this is not back taxes people. i worked zero hours last week but invested some money- half of it goes to mini and the other half to to uncle sam... a bit of a bummer though since i was hoping to buy 15 and not have to worry about financing...oh well.

can't wait (jump up and down when i saw i was scheduled for production!)

>>OK, my scheduled production week is only ten days away, and the OL still lists my MINI as being "On Order"... does anyone know how soon before the build date the official web status display changes from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production"?

Same here. Anyone with an answer?

BTW, just watched 2 Guys Garage on Speed Channel and they showed an electronic rust controller. Very cool. Anyone have experience with it?

Yo SB, my compliments on the May webpage, it looks great! My creative web-skills are painfully limited, so anything that functions is a step in the right direction. Your page however, is ultra-simple and concise; love it!

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi All!

I've been upgraded.

VIN: WMWRC33433TCXXXXX

Status: Scheduled for Production

Estimated Production Date: 4/4/2003

The dealer is still telling me a May arrival date.I'm starting to buy things like floor mats, and non run flat tyres now.I'm going to try to stay in my budget.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Apparently you get "scheduled for production" two weeks before your estimated build date. Congrats on getting updated all. From what I see there should be a few more that need to check out to see if they are updated.

Thanks Ryephile. It looks like you have your hands full with so many club members. I like how you have so much info about each person and give the option to view members by car color.

SB- you are the best for updating our site sooo quickly!

is anyone in our club from the Boston area and dealing with Herb Chambers or Peabody? and yes.. I have checked the dealer ratings on here and at MINI2- I'm getting 15 from HC and not having any problems with them always calling me back, etc. , but the add-on $$$ of rally lights (which I dropped) and the dealer alarm are silly! they double the price of the options! anyone have any ideas for better/ cheaper install places?

i was also thinking about intalling those green brake pads that minimize dust... where do you get those installed? NOT dealer at $100 an hour!

I'm not getting any add-ons from my dealer so I'm not sure how they handle the prices. I do know that they had a MCS with the ground effect kit and the sticker on it was $3200.00 for the kit. I guess that includes the kit, paint and installation.

As for putting on brake pads. I'm sure any local brake shop could do it for you. I plan on having a skid plate by the time my MCS arrives and have already talked with a friend at a garage down the street from where I work. Luckily he said I could use the lift and bring my own tools. Also check around with some friends. I've only replaced brake pads once in my life and it wasn't too complicated. Luckily I had another vehicle to drive once I figured out that I needed a special size hex head wrench.

Here's my VIN: WMWRE334X3TD#####

Does anyone know how to translate the VIN? I know each part means something, but I'd like to know more

I'm not sure about the specifics of the VIN but I'm sure it's listed somewhere. I'm not going to put the VIN up on the site as I feel that is a personal property sort of thing.

I just remembered something about the rally lights Chriss. I think I saw it mentioned that the dealer just puts a standard switch for the lights and makes it tacky looking. You may want to do a search on it here. You might want to check some local 4x4 type shops for installing that stuff. They put them on these off road trucks so I don't see why they couldn't put a set on a Mini. I'm sure they would be shocked to work on such a small car after working on those huge/tall trucks all day.

Hey y'all!

It's so great to see everyone moving into the production and build stages. I got super, super lucky, and right now my MINI (which originally had a May delivery date) is on the Fidelio in the Atlantic. It's that awful period in between Southy and the VDC when no one can tell you anything...I just keep checking the W&W site every day, praying that there aren't any ship delays. If my luck holds, Gates should be in Charleston, SC on the 30th of March, and hopefully to me in Texas not long after that.

Here's a question for everyone, how have you described your future MINI to friends and family who've never seen one?

Meghan

TziholMeg I have a link at home that I believe you can track the ship your Mini is on. Maybe that will help pass the time.

I haven't had any luck at explaining what the Mini looks like. At work one guy has seen one. If he is around while I'm trying to explain how a Mini looks he will always jump in and say it's a Steve Erkel car.

<edit>Nevermind. I see you visit the WW site. Here it is for others as well. http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...FAQ#post115484

Great resource, that Wallenius Wilhelmsen site.

For those of us on the West Coast, the key sailings for April/May look like these:

The ISOLDE departs Southampton April 11, arrives Port Hueneme May 1. (What are the chances that folks with 4/4/2003 build dates can catch this boat?)

The JINSEI MARU departs Southampton April 18, arrives Port Hueneme May 7. (I bet we're more likely to make this sailing.)

The ELEKTRA departs Southampton April 28, arrives Port Hueneme May 17. (If we have to wait for this boat I bet we're transferred to the June club.)

The FALSTAFF departs Southampton May 4, arrives Port Hueneme May 31. (I'll be out of my mind if Nigel has to wait around on the dock until the Falstaff sails...)

Cool...

From the founder of the Can't Wait for March CLub...

I've been pushed back to a May delivery through dealer allotment cuts. Live in Portland but buying in Utah as the wait in Portland is up to a year longer.

Looks like I'm in the same boat as most of you guys & gals...prod #, prod date of 040403 but no VIN just yet.

I just can't wait for my Mini to get to Hawaii...
My Mini is on the Pegasus Leader heading to Port Hueneme, Ca will arrive there on April 6. Now depending how long it stays in the distribution center it will be on another boat to Hawaii(around May i'm guessing)!! AND when it does get hear I'm sure it will be at least a week on the dock waiting for dealer pick up...

too bad there ain't a bridge from Hawaii to Cali(impossible)...but hey when I get back here my Mini would be broken in

sorry all this waiting is get me anxious...I know I should buy a gift for my Mini when I get it.........

Thanks for posting the boat info BearX220!

We now have our Vin Number, and currently we are status 150 (don't remember what that one is.) The rep at mini said that everything really starts happening when the car goes into statue 151 (bodyshop). The lady tole me that our car would be done the week ending on the 4th., so hopefully the car will be on the ISOLDE, or the JINSEI MARU! Man, it's really starting to get close now!

why is everyone blocking off the end of their VIN number? Isn't it the number that just ends up on the front of your car for the world to see anyway? on my golf the whole number is visible through the windsheild....

anybaody scheduled for a ship yet? I went to the WW site and typed in the last 7 digits of my vin, but there is no reconrd of mini

If you want to see what the WW site looks like when you're going through the shipping process, you can try it out with my number: TC44724. Currently I'm on the water with the Fidelio, though I don't know the ship's call signs, so I can't long-lat track it.

I only showed up on the WW website after my car had supposedly been loaded for a day. The OL just yesterday updated me to En Route. So don't worry too much about the computer readouts until you're almost up to your delivery date. Not being able to get any information from ASKMINI is frustrating enough...

Because your VIN # and a couple bucks to a disreputable person at a dealership and I've got myself a master key to your car. It has been said that it's a good diea to lay a piece of tape over the VIN # on your dash.
