Thanks Airwolf. The owners site has some nice stuff on it. I checked it out most of the night last night.

Chrisscat mine has updated to the correct options and is showing the Anthracite like others. There is a thread on the first page here about 866-ASK-MINI. From what I understand in reading the post, if you have a question then they may be able to help.

Since my order has been updated, the estimated production has been pushed back to 4-18.

Great to hear that you got your production number conecarver! Now you can enjoy the torture of checking on your owners page every day to see if anything has changed with regards to your MINI!

I wonder approximately how late in April your build date can be before the estimated delivery is in June, and not May? I wonder if anyone from the previous CWF clubs can chime in on this.

Does anyone know how the MINI's destined for the west coast get here? Do they go through the Panama Canal, and then up to Long Beach? I live in Oregon, so I'm curious as to how my MINI is going to get here.

Yes, your MINI's do go through the Panama Canal-in fact some west coast March Club members even saw the ship go through on the mini-cam at the Canal.

I had a feeling that was the case, but I just wanted to be sure. I'm guessing that they ship all of the MINI's to a single port on the West Coast, but I'm just guessing on that one. And since Long Beach is the biggest, again I am assuming that they arrive there.

The west coast Marchers all talked about their MINI's going to Port Hueneme. Is that near Long Beach? I'm geographically handicapped here in the Midwest. Been to Oregon & Washington several times. It is so beautiful!! Wish I could live up there too.

Port Huneme (pronounced why-KNEE-me) is north of Los Angeles, near Oxnard and Santa Barbara, while Long Beach is just south of LA. When I had a European Delivery Volvo shipped back to the US three years ago, it made it from Hamburg to Port Huneme and then by truck to Seattle in just over seven weeks.

I think it's really great that Mini has afforded this level of information for buyers about their Minis. I am expecting a fall delivery around September/October so my days calling in are a ways off.

I have never gone through this process with car before as every car I have bought was on the lot and I drove off usually within a few hours of seeing it. The longest I had to wait was for local dealers to swap some cars around to get the right color. It definitely changes the notion from buying A Cooper to buying MY Cooper.

It had me wondering if Mini is doing anything for the customers along the way - like preparing a photo alblum of it along the way? I would hardly expect it but I then again wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, I live in the Portland area. My Fiancee and I just moved into our first house in Canby, which is 15 miles south of Downtown Portland off of I-5.
I lived in AZ for 4 years while I was in college, and then had a chance to take a job back up in Oregon after I graduated. I really missed the grass and trees while I was in AZ, so I really wanted to come back.

That's good Chrisscat, now your all ready.

I hope that a late production doesn't carry the delivery into a later month. Any ideas of how long it usually takes to get to either the west or east coast once the Mini is on the ship? PK1 if mine misbehaves then I'll give it a good lashing once it is worn in.

Here is the link to the Miraflores Locks if anyone was wanting to check it out. Other than Mini cargo ships, sometimes it's interesting. http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Teldon, that's not a bad idea. Have you ever seen the photos taken of people on roller coasters? It would be neat if an "ordered" production number Mini was photographed once and sent to the future owner by e-mail. Maybe the last stage of production where the car is started and driven the assembly line.
