Good deal on a used Mini?

Driving past a local Toyota/Suzuki dealer on the way home from work tonight, I saw a Pepper white/black MCS on the lot....

I took a look and a test drive....

This is what it has ( at least what I know so far the sales rep knew nothing about the car)

05 MCS, run flat tires, premium pkg, cordoba beige leather seats, anthracite interior, body color matched stick, DSC.....

9600 miles...

Not a scratch, ding or mark I could see inside or out....

Asking price: 24,500
Rep offered it to me for 22,900 ( I have little doubt he will go at least a little lower)

What do people think?? Good deal or no?

I was planning on a MC new in this color combo ( though not with the leather )

considering the high resale value, I'd still order one new just as I wanted it instead of buying a used one. but that is a decent price. Depending on how the car was driven in its almost 10k miles, those runflat tires might need replacing. Make him budge on that so you can buy some proper performance tires if you decide to buy it.

That seems to be a decent price....especially if you live out west. If it's what you want that is..

Cheers

Don't pay more than $21,500. If you like the pkg's go for it. If not, order what you want.

I'd also suggest ordering a new one if you cannot wait.

An equally equipped one, brand new, should run... Lets see... 20k for MCS, and +1400 per package, and from what you described, sounds like there's 2 packages on there...

So ~23k for a 2006 Pepper White MCS, same spec, made just for you.

Only problem is, waiting months for it to come in.

Go to MiniUSA.com and build your own, and see what you think then.

Order a new one, just the way you want it. And don't forget the LSD (limited slip differential) and the Xenon headlights. It will be worth the wait.

Yeah I am still leaning towards new.....my local Mini dealer says its 6-8 wks on new Mini's I think I can wait that long

When I price out the Mini I saw tonight it comes out to 24,700 assuming there are no other upgrades I was not aware of......

So its roughly a 2 G savings for a car with 9600 miles.....

It is tempting but I do worry about how it was run....

I have the VIN number maybe I'll do a carfax report and see if any thing turns up....

Appreciate all the input..
