R50/53 Ordered my MINI today, with your help!
A sincere thank you to everyone who has posted at this website. I think I have read every thread, and the discussion and information has been very valuable to me. This is a wonderful community!
Ordered a PS/B MCS today from MINI of the Hamptons, and they said it would be arrive in 6-8 weeks. I thought they were kidding after hearing about some of the waits around the world.
Premium Package, Cold Package, DSC, Fog Lights, and they threw in the rubber floor mats. First class dealership. Loaner cars. Free pick up!
He gave me a production number, VIN next week. Now I have to figure out how to get into the owners lounge.

Welcome, Red ... Great news about your striking car. Hang in there!
It will take a bit of time for your 'mobile and Owners Lounge is helpful, though 3-4 days behind reality. Good to call 1-866-ASKMINI, too, they are supremely patient, though they are 2-3 days behind reality. Still it is all a big help to chart some progress. Congratulations.
My own dear BVLGARI is half way across the ocean; you can join me in tracking its progress by logging into the "Can't Wait for February Club" site and checking the bottom of Page 35 to find the constantly updated progress of FALSTAFF, the ship floating the dear one home, on a map posted (and updated) by Wactuary, one of the 4 MCO excited members boasting of passage on the FALSTAFF!! You can do this for your own month's club. Ciao.

Sparkles,
It's ironic your MINI just left Southampton. That is where I bought mine today (Long Island)! How did you know which "club" to join? I think my dealer was overly optimistic when he said 6-8 weeks.
Red, welcome to MCO!
My MINI, Andromeda, is sipping crumpets and tea with Sparkles' BVLGARI as the Falstaff chugs along at a wonderful clip. (Last update just a few minutes ago

I bought my Mini from Torr at MINI of the Hamptons, and he was right on with the ETA. I ordered just before Christmas, he gave me a production number immediately and told me it would be a February delivery. I figured it would be the very end of February if I was lucky, but I was even luckier! After production getting pushed back a week, I got built a few days early and made some really tight connections. Actually, the Falstaff left me on the docks, but CAME BACK FOR ME.
Anyway, I would join the club that is in the month after your build date. My car is only taking about 2 weeks to get to me. Unless you get stuck in one of the phases (this happens occasionally, but don't worry about it), you should have your car no more than 4 weeks after the production date.
Welcome again, MCO is a great place to pass the time.

Good luck with Andromeda, sounds like she is having a first class voyage on the Falstaff!
I have a production number too, but I have no idea what it means or when it will be built. Or how to get in the Owner's Lounge. Mike Dito of MINI of the Hamptons said he would email something to me, but I can't wait!
So I joined the April Club when maybe I should be in the March. The number he gave was 3718752.
Keep us posted on the little one's arrival!

   Okay, Red, while it will absolutely help you to go back several page's worth on MINI TALK, I will begin with the following advice to answer one of your questions -- Log on to MINIUSA.com, click on Owner's Lounge, commit yourself by logging in, creating a password, click on Track Your Baby, log in your Production Number and see what they report. (Do look at Order Details - they will appear, then scroll down to see all of the specs you have ordered).
Also, somewhat redundant, but also helpful in describing the different status levels, call 1-866-ASKMINI. Be sure to ask what your status number is and what that means. All said, they are about 3 - 4 days behind reality.
Later on you can learn about tracking a ship, but honestly, no one has EVER done as FANTASTIC a job of tracking a ship as my great shipmate, Wactuary, who has also been guiding you in this thread. The FALSTAFF is the most watched and waited for ship ever in MINI land. Watch us move on the cool map 'Can't Wait for Feb Club's' Page 35! Good luck and enjoy the ride. Ciao.

Sparkles,
Thanks for your guidance. I signed in and it said 3/28/03 estimated production date. But the details were slightly incorrect, ie: Leather instead opf Leatherette, Sports Package instead of just DSC and Fogs.
Is it because the dealer pre-specs the cars a certain way to get on "line", and then adjusts it to the actual order? It's a pretty fancy neighborhood and ALL the cars on the lot are loaded with every goody!

Red,
That's exactly it. The dealer prespecs and it takes a few days for the order to reflect the changes. You should see your order in a day or two. Not realizing, I called Torr the Monday after I ordered (Friday) to ask why my car was Red w/ Leather instead of Blue w/ Cloth. One more day and everything updated to my specs.
Good luck. With a March build I think your safe in the April club. It could possibly stretch to May, but I'm an optimist. Heck, I was a 1/31 build and went for the Feb club. Seems like that was a good choice, by the course of things so far.
