wallet size carkey

What do people do with their 3rd spare key which is wallet size? I just chuck it away with all the initial documents when purchasing the car. Does anyone actually use it? Give it to their significant other?

The valet key. I keep it just in case, but haven't ever used it.

Ugh. I put it away so I wouldn't lose it. I haven't seen it since. But, it's in a very safe place.

Don't any of you ever go to the beach? That is the surfin key! Ok, swimming key for others. Seriously it is. Unlike the keys with the remotes it is waterproof. Whenever you go somewhere that you be swimming take ONLY that key. Leave the other two hidden at home. Tie the swimmin key to your suit. That way you don't have to try to hide a key on the beach where someone might find it and steal your MINI.

I actually carry it in my wallet and had to use it the other day when I picked it up from my brother's house. He wasn't home yet and I couldn't wait for him to get home to give me the keys. Works great! Very handy.

When I saw this thread my initial thought was "what wallet key?" I was going to post that I didn't have one but then I went and looked in a drawer in my kitchen where I keep spare keys and keys that I don't ven know what they are for but I keep them "just in case". I found my MINI wallet key in there. So then I guess the answer is - I threw it in my spare key Drawer and have totally forgotten about it until now.

I second that swimming idea, but it is alltogether great for working out. I carry that key when I run or bike too as it is small and light. Another neat application is when the weather is either crazy hot or very cold and you just started the car and have to briefly stop at a bank or convenience store, you can leave the engine running and lock it with the valet key for those 2 minutes instead of turning it on and off.
