my mini was meant to be for me. i had visited the mini dealer once and there were none available to test drive. then, two days later it was raining and i couldn't work outside so i thought i'd test my luck and visit the dealer again to see if they had any. lo and behold there was the silver mini cooper i had wanted waiting for me to test drive. it was manual with all that i'd wanted. all the sales people mistakenly thought the car was already sold. though there were huge waiting lists of people wanting to buy this mini, i had first priority because i was there.

of course i bought it. it's beautiful and it's the best driving machine i've owned. i love this car. i was told by a friend whose brother has one in britain that this car will run forever and it's the only car i'll ever need. this car is a classic and great investment.

Getting rid of my 95' Del Sol (that i thought i'd keep forever). Got a fully loaded (even GPS) Green w/ White top on order. I'm dreaming about driving it every night, and the wife is already getting sick of hearing about it. =) Production date is end of next month, so i'm chomping at the bit.

I really hope a Texas dealer comes online soon becuase an 8 hour drive for the free service is going to suck.

Traded my 99 GTI in for an Indi Blue Cooper last week, white bonnet stripes, driving lamps, in stock and I couldn't resist. Haven't enjoyed driving like this ever. Power was same as the GTI, so had no problem getting the regular Cooper.

"I get the impression that BMW is targeting a pretty young, primarily male audience"
Well, I'm pretty, but old.'Going to be 70 soon, and I am primarily male. I've had Alfas, Jags, MG's,TR's, trucks and motorbikes, but this new Mini is just the ticket. Ron

41/F traded in an 93 Acura Integra
Had been planning to get a Beetle since 97, but ordered Mini within 24 hours of first sight. Red w/black roof - delivered July 6
My dealer did not mention split between men & women, but mentioned many of the men were engineer types.
