I am 31, Male, Married, 3 kids. Own a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL.
I am familiar with the Mini from my trips to Europe, I visited the BMW dealers and looked at them last year and fell in love. When I came back BMW dealers scratched their heads and said they would not carry in the USA. I was delighted when I found out they are here. Delivery is in June. I called 8 dealers in So. Cal and they all have a 600-1000 person waiting list. I found one dealer that had one to sell me coming in June (the above). I paid $5000 above sticker . I guess it's worth it so I don't have to wait a year - I want one bad! The other dealers with the waiting list were all charging a $2500-5000 premium as well, but had a 1-2 year wait for the Cooper S.

I am a 38 year old airline pilot with a wife and 1 teenage daughter who can't yet understand our obsession with this car. Ahhh...youth is waisted on the young! We have a silver and black Cooper coming with the premium & sport package, due to be in at the end of next week. We are also about #200 on the waiting list for a Cooper S, which we have been told should come about the 2nd quarter of next year or earlier, depending on how much production is increased by then. I have been to the dealer more times than I care to admit...what a great car!!!

F47 I guess I am bucking the demographic. Always have always will...
my husband has a 99 beetle and a 71 VW Bus, I'm trading in "the mom car" - 99 Safari van for my mini. (Even the dealer says I sound like his mom) Yellow S in November and I won't, won't won't won't pay a premium! I've been on the lists since dealer announcements.

It is fantastic to see everyone's love for the car !

I am 24 Male and work at a software company in Australia. I have had a 1965 BRG Cooper S since I was 15 (I bought it cheep and restored it with my Dad) and looking forward to getting my new cooper s in September. Every review I have read in the Aussie magazines have been great.

Am I the onlyfemale that knows what's up? Been waiting for this car for 2 years. So glad the Jetta got stolen. Now I have to fight the husband to drive this car.

I'm a male, married for 24 years, and 48 years old. Have 2 kids and a dog. Car before this? A Volvo S80--nice car, but rally boring, although the twin turbos were very fast! Have also owned a Rambler Ambassador 770, Fiat 850 Spyder, Honda Civic Wagon, Jetta GLI, Mazda Minivan, Sunbeam Alpine, BMW Bavaria, Mazda MX 6, Land Rover Discovery.

Thinnk I like cars, or what?

I'm male, 42. Current car is an 86 BMW 528e, with over 200k. Married, 3 kids. Haven't had an interest in a new car since... 1988. Am now waiting on my velvet red, premium package, CVT to be loaded onto a ship. Trying to keep sane till it arrives.

Just got my baby, cooper-green with white top. I have wanted a mini for years so I was in my 30's when this started but now I am 41. My new bride loves the car and she is my age.

33 M, married. Loving my new Cooper. My wife is 24 and she is more excited about it than I've ever seen her about a car.

I am a 27 year old SHE-Woman and I can't wait to get my hands on my velvet red mini cooper with white top. My other car is a motorcycle, '77 Honda CB400 Super Sport that I love very much, but I'm getting tired of putting on the leather whenever I need to go somewhere. Can't wait for the Mini!

I'm learning to drive stick as well. Do you live in the flatlands? I am in San Francisco and need to get used to the hills. From what I can tell, having a manual will be much more exciting to drive than automatic. Have fun!
