24, Female, and proud of it.

I don't think MINI is targeted at a specific demographic, but at a state of mind really. The Mini Cooper speaks to me (like it does to all of you here I'm sure). It's the best marriage of form and function. It's a driveable piece of art. It SCREAMS "SMILE"! It begs for a touch if not a drive. It brings back the excitement of Christmas morning jitters to adults. It's just because you feel like it and all for fun!

trading in 2001 Nissan XTerra for base model Cooper, British Racing Green, take delivery next weekend.

Have owned '95 VW Golf, Honda CRV, VW Cabrio, VW Jetta, and our family car is now a 2002 Volvo V70 2.4T

I'm more excited about the MINI than any other car I've owned. Up at 5:30am this morning, couldn't sleep thinking about my MINI.

This is a great poll - very fun to find out who else is out there. So it is a guy car, huh? I thought it appeals to me because it is a good girl's car. Hey, the MINI did a nice job on unisex styling!

I am a Female, 37, bought myself this car for my 37th birthday (Silver/black/CVT, loaded + nav system) Had to get a car anyway (my old one fell apart) - test drove all european cars that are out there in 20-30 K range - volvos (s40,s60, BMW 3 series, VW jetta and Passat, Audi a4) - they all seemed too commonplace and nothing special. Also felt like gas is getting so expensive, and I wanted to be environmentally consious - so went and looked at the Toyota Prius (hybrid car) - well, what can you say - it lacked excitement and leather seats, although can't beat the gas mileage...

Well, after test driving Prius and the MINI about 4 times each - the choice was obvious. I never had a sports car in my life and never really cared - but this thing is sooo cool - and really very practical - like a chopped up station wagon. And I feel like a responsible memeber of the community at the same time - driving a very economical car. Actually, this is the ONLY car out there in which you can have so much fun and smile constantly and at the same time it is not a V8 gas guzzler. Well, you just can't beat the fun! I guess I was not ready for the grown up car yet.

31/F: biotech science geek.
At first my husband (33yr science geek) wanted to be practical and buy a used car car to replace my totalled '91 Isuzu Trooper. AFter humoring me with a test drive, he was more excited about getting a MINI than I was (and he didn't get to drive it!) We had to have one immediately, and after franctic searching, scored one in Sacramento after 4 days of calling and hawking over their internet-listed inventory. Now we have the whole summer to enjoy the sunroof!! woohoo!

M/46 Long-time Mini Owner: '66 Austin Cooper S, '64 Morris Cooper 998, and my real obscurity: '66 Honda S600 convertible, Wife owns '61 850 Austin Countryman. Owned a lotta other cars & trucks, but I'll always be a Mini man. First car was a Mini, and I'm gettin' a BRG & White MINI Cooper CVT in a few days, I hope. I've driven a lot of sticks, and since this will be my main car, I've decided to give the CVT a whirl. Too many hills in Dago, and after test-driving a CVT, I'm impressed. It's much better than a similar CVT I drove in a Suburu Justy once. I've got big plans for lottsa driving this summer, and a new MINI would be the icing on the cake. I'll keep this site posted on any long distance drives, to be sure.

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

About to be 47 (next week), M. I've always been a fan of British cars. Owned 3 MGBs, TR-6, 2 TR-7s, Spitfire. Still lust after A-H 3000s. On the other hand, I also have an infatuation with BMW 2002s, having owned a 1972 model for about 5 years at one point. Currently own a Volvo 940 Turbo wagon and a Volvo 240 wagon that I've tweaked with various suspension, engine and braking upgrades.

I figure if you roll the MGBs, and the BMW '02 together and run them through a time machine to the 21st century, a Mini Cooper S is the result.

I picked it up off the lot at Hank Aaron in Union City. I had a great experience with them.

My girlfriend, 25 also takes delivery tomorrow with a stnadard black cooper.

I am male who is 43 but will be 44 when I get my Mini Cooper S, Chili Red with white roof, mirrors, rims and bonnet stripes. Also included is the Premium and Sport package and the HK 8 spkr system. I'm an applications Software Engineer who would like to quit working just to drive this little car everywhere. I might take a part-time job as a pizza delivery man just to have fun. I wonder if Pizza Hut can pay the car for me since it will have their colors...

just a note.... 22/M

While I was at the dealership in Jacksonville, FL all of the other people looking at MINIs appeared to be 50+. I could quite possibly be the only MINI owner on campus @ UNF for quite awhile!!!

52 yo male..current ride Eagle Talon, former owner of BMWs ('72-2002 & '77-320i), currently considering one of these "buggies". I loved my '72 2002, drove it 5 years and got what I paid for it on a trade in...maybe it will happen again with a Mini !?

I am a 24 year old male and I just placed an order for an S. This will be my first new car. I have driven 944s, 911s, Mustangs, and RX-7s in the past. I found it hard to believe that any males in my age group would opt for anything other than the S. The regular, though a great car, just seems to be more of a "chick car".

I'm male and 25. My brite silver S will be delivered to the dealership this week.

My girlfriend picked up her Jet Black, white top cooper last thursday - she's 25 also.

I must agree with most on this thread... most of the people I've seen at the dealership look about 40 or older. I think some of this has to do with the placement of the MINI ads. I've seen them in a few magazines like the air freshner in premiere (I think) and only one small sticker ad in Rolling Stone. More youth orientated magazine ad placement may help get the word out on MINI. Of course, when Austin Powers comes out next month, I can guarentee you that the placement there will do the trick nicely.

Too bad all those people arn't going to see their MINI until next year. The wait at Westchester MINI in NY is now late November!
