51,male,IT, waiting for the hovering layoff axe to finally fall, then it's pension draw and a normal job. LOVE this car, I've only had it about a month, can't get over how well built and fun to drive it is. I don't need the power of the S for commuting, would have gotten an S except wanted to keep the cost down, so ordered a MC with xenon, sport pkg, cold pkg, premium pkg, chrono... Have had some serious motive hardware and driven them on track, but gave up that obscenely expensive habit (B5 S4, E46 M3, Carrera 4S). Now it's 2 unique, light, fun cars and the occasional autocross.

Nearly all the members of NM Mini Motoring I go to lunch with, (except for Susie) are M >40 (being kind.) I see lots of F >40 (being kind) driving MINIs around but they never flick, or wave. Must be too intent on enjoying the MINI motoring experience, or dodging the trucks and SUVs that dominate the desert SW.

cheers,
PS did the survey/poll ever yield results?

Wow! An Olds Achieva with 157K miles??

I have seen one of those suckers down here in the past 2-3 years. Most of them are in the scrape yard.

40, female, college graduate (BS Nursing w/Biology minor). Work is bidding miscellaneous building materials for commercial construction jobs. I have my college diploma hanging in my office. I look at it every month when I write my student loan payment check & think hmmmm, what a pretty piece of paper

I was toying with the idea of one day buying a BMW or AUDI TT convertible in Sept 05 when I ran across the Mini convertible while surfing the net. I ordered my Mini a month later.

Male/43 divorcing
23 yrs USAF (now working Stealth)
Close to finishing Profesional Aeronautics Degree before retirement.
The 03 Mini S (Mighty Mouse) was my 1yr belated 40th B-day gift to myself.

Someone commented that most of the mini demograghic are young white males and females, or older w/males and females. Having been to many events accross the country I have to agree. In the past 3yrs I have seen about 10 asian, 10 hispanic, and 3 black owners to include myself. Not that ethnicity really matters, I just wonder if practicality of the mini is an issue to those groups. I was asked to hand in my "Brother Card" when I bought my mini.
Ain't dat a b!tch!!
