Use a hot water bottle - don't fill it to full though.

I'll sell you my cold weather package...I live in Phoenix...lol. Actually I have used it a few times this winter as morning temps have gotten under 50 degrees...brr, that's cold, laugh! It works great, but have to turn it off after a few minutes.

The other option I have seems like an oxymoron.....the rear backing warning on a mini, laugh. Instead wish I had it on my wife's Suburban which she has tapped a couple times backing, ouch.....

i cant live without heaters....

the temp in my gti this morning read 4.

I would venture to say that in order to add these after the fact youd have to replace the seats and a whole bunch of other stuff. probably pretty expensive..

There are 12V heating pads.
or
Sit on heat vent before going to your car.

With money you can replace your seats with the heated ones. Money no object? No problem.

There are many companies, like Duetto that make aftermarket seat heaters. Check around, shouldn't cost more than $250 or so for the parts.

I did not get the cold weather package, as I live in South Florida. We would NEVER need such a package with the balmy weather we have all year round!!

At least that is what I thought!! It is going to be in the 20's this weekend in Ft Lauderdale!!!!!!!!! Now I know some of you are laughing wishing you had 20 degree weather right now, however I did not move to South Florida for the cold!!

Looks like I will have to move to Cuba! Can anyone teach me spanish? Gracias!

From your signature, I'd say you should just make it a habit to drive the eb/w S (once it arrives) in the winter.

So, what, do you plan on driving a different car each day of the week?

But seriously, to add the cold package, you'd need to replace the seats and the outside mirrors. The mirrors wouldn't be too tough, but seats would set you back a couple of thou at least (so we've heard from other members who've talked to dealers about replacing seats with MINI originals). If for some weird reason you really wanted to persue this, I'd suggest you wait a couple of years and then try real hard to find a junked/crashed MINI with heated lapis blue leather seats. I doubt that the work finding that would be worth the effort...

When I lived in "cold country" I had a wood stove. Used to
stand in front of it for a it before I ran to the car. Great,
economical butt warmer!!!

Well the Miata is my toy not a daily driver. My GF usually drives The MINI. I will drive the S as the daily driver. I just can't seem to part with the tracker plus it is a blast in the snow and I use it to pull a trailer. My son will turn 16 soon. He will get the tracker. Guess I was just hoping that it might be quite easy to pull the leather covers and install the hardware. Good thing the S is coming
