I can't imagine white wheels
The Mini wheels get so covered with breakdust its crazy. I'll wash my car and 2 days later the wheels are covered again. I've never seen a set of wheels get so dirty so quickly.

Dust Pads
Changing to the brake pads helps the most with the dust. EBC greens or Mintex. A good wheel wax job helps some.
Whatever BMW makes these pads out of is the worst dust producing pad ever.

I gotta hand it to you lot15, keeping the white holeys look that good.
I switched to the Hawk Ceramic pads, extremely low dust. Now i can just wash the wheels with the car and not every two days.

Black, or gunmetal wheels is an excellent way to keep the dust down.
I will be buying some white aftermarket wheels, it will be good way to force me to keep my car clean.

After adding EBC Green pads to my car, my dusting problems have pretty much disappeared. That is not to say my white wheels are brite white, but I can at least live with whatever dusting I get until my next car wash...without having to take time to redetail the wheels in between washings.
Once you put a coat of wax on your wheels, try "dusting" your wheels when the dust begins to appear...it works well with light dust build-up, and you don't have to wash the whole car because the wheels are dusty. I use an old tee shirt and use it over and over again... it gets really black and grungy so I use a pair of work gloves, but between dusting and using a California duster I can keep down the number of washes to keep my car "lookin" good in the summer months
