Which way does your key face?

Just a quick little silly question for the fun and enjoyment of all. Which way does your key face when you start up you MINI. Do you make sure the MINI wings are showing? Do you not pay attention to how the key goes in? I always make sure the shiney silver MINI wings can be seen by all.

I just jam it in there. I don't care which way it goes in.

Since I use the wing to unlock the door with my thumb, it naturally faces
me when I insert into the ignition.... not that I really paid any attention.

My wing LOCKS it - did they change the keys? I hit the unlock with the tip of my finger, so it actually faces away when I put it in.

Yes '05 is a different key, but the wing still locks the car.

Wings open the car in my '04, and for practical and aesthetic reasons, face me with key in the ignition.

Right, for '04 and earlier, but AFAIK on all '05s the wings lock the car. There wasn't a mid-year change.

ooh, the keys wing facing the driver? Another thing I can add to the list of things to do before I head out for some motoring. So far I'm only at making sure the cigarette lighter is facing left/right evenly, change holder facing front/back evenly and the power mirror switch set to the passenger side.

I've actually driven a few feet before noticing the wings are not facing out and have parked and switched the key around.

Doesn't matter to me. Seems to go fast around all the turns either way.

It's the small details that count. So in a small car like the MINI they count even more. Something about proportion.

Is this some kind of ritual?

It depends. I always like to see the wings face better.

Some how I wouldn't be surprised if some people align their vents and dash ***** when they turn off the car too

Is that what your therapist tells you?

You say that like at some point we would allow the vents to become unaligned.
