R50/53 THE APRIL CLUB
So what's up w/ this soft suspension deal?! Looks like my mini is going to come w/ the different oil!!! What a bummer.....I hope they offer it as an option, cuz i want my mini to be rugged like i'm driving a finely tuned racing machine, not some minivan!!!!
Damn, i wish my mini didn't get damaged!!

Hang in there. With all of the roar against this change, I would not be shocked to see BMW reverse the change on the S.

Red, you asked about the FX system and how it works in the MINI. With the Delphi unit, you need, of course, the receiver, the car kit with includes the antenna, and also the FM modulator. It mounts under the dash and connects to your FM radio. You tune the radio to a predeterminend channel and you have FX satelite radio. Interesting enough, if you have you Delphi on, you don't get regular radio reception. To get normal channels, you have to turn off the Delphi unit. The sound of the FX reception is better than any of the radio channels, and I'd say it's CD quality, even channeled through the radio. The whole system cost me about $214 (I bought it new on ebay) and installation can be anywhere from $75 to $200 depending on where you go.
I'm baaack!
Fort Sill was pretty cool, seeing my little brother for the first time since he joined the Army was rather crazy, he's definitely a "Man" now! I have pics, but gimmie a bit to upload them.
Mr. Motor has been waiting patiently in the garage all week. He'll be pleased to be back on the road tomorrow
Cheers for now,
Ryan

Howdy y'all,
Still smilin' along at 950 miles, can't get enough of this car!!!
Here are a couple more pics for you!
BURNIE got his new nametag!

Burnie meeting daisy and sparky

-->par4, I followed your instructions closely and was able to get the DSC to go off from a standing start in first gear (90 degree right turn). Not something I've dealt with on a daily basis like you have, but it does seem like it would get annoying quick.
Catch y'all later!

Chef,
Nice pic of the three MINI's. I bet you enjoyed watching all the gawking. Also, an M3 and S together
. Did the two of you go out driving? How did you think they compared?
The DSC is sensitive in the 90 degree fast pull out condition, but nothing I can't live with. Like you, I love every chance I get to get behind the wheel and MOTOR!

I'm back from 10 great days in Maui/Kona. Missed Pyro, but he fired right up and reminded me of the first few days all over again. No cat paw prints on the car, so no cat execution was necessary.
There was a brg/w mc and a eb/w and ps mcs that hung around in a shopping center across the street from where we stayed in Maui. There was also a cr/w mc at one of those exotic car rental places parked between a prowler and a corvette.
Only saw a cr/w and a jb/w on the big island.
It seems like all minis in Hawaii have white tops.
Minis are cool everywhere. Had to drive a PT Cruiser for 5 days and an Olds Alero (or something like that) for the other 5 days.
Great to be back,
Andy

Belated thanks for the info MiniMarc. I thought using RF signals degrades the signal, but your review is encouraging. I bet it is very useful for long distance trips; wonder if you are just enjoying it locally, because the content is so good.

I've got 2200 miles on my car now (eek!). Went down to Cape Cod for the weekend and had a BLAST driving around and around the curves. Boyfriend's mother was very impressed with the car, though we declined to show her anythng other than the tame side of my car
*sigh*

^^ sweet ride, duder.. not just saying it cuz that's what people say when they post their new MINI.. the DS/W with white wheels and bonnet stripes has become my favorite combo.. with the aero kit, it's gonna be badass. if i had to do it over again, i think I woulda gotten the aero on my MC.. but to have to pay for it now at once, it's too much.. wouldn't have minded tacking extra on monthly payments.. but oh well.
in other news, i'll hit 5000 miles by the week's end.

Hey SemiImbecile, who's your MINI Mascot there on the dash?
Your MCS looks awesome, I especially like the clear tailights on your DS/W combo!
--->Rachel, I dunno about the logo outline thingie, does your shop need them to cut the stripes? Also, any idea what your underhood buzzing is?!

I've rummaged around as far as I can under the hood without taking anything apart, but the way that the engine is in there... ergh. May as well let the trained professionals tackle it! If I can make them.
And dude... loved the 'hawk!
I'm sure this has already been discussed, but with 114 pages, I'm too lazy to go back and try to find it. How do you post photos? Do they have to be already downloaded onto a webpage? (I'm on a Mac).
Marc, you can upload your pics into the Member's MINI gallery here on MCO!
On the lefthand menu, the navigation is simple, then when your in the gallery, it'll be little text on the upper-right saying "add photos". The rest is easy stuff. If you can put an attachment on your e-mail's this is cake!
In other News:
I brought Mr. Motor to his first Street Rod show Sunday! My father brought his '33 Ford 3-window business coupe street-rod, and I followed in the MINI. It was a great time, and the spot is always hoppin' with a great variety of cars. There were only a few modern cars, mostly 'Vette's and Vipers, and my MINI!
Cheers,
Ryan

yes, the "FACE" thread is quite a trip indeed!
...oh darn, another beautifull day outside, I guess I'll go out and drive the MINI.

oops, I haven't updated the CWFAC webpage in a while. Who's got idea's for what I should do to it, in terms of format and content?
Cheers,
Ryan

Jack is looking great! How about a roof shot when you get a chance.
My daughter and I are going to an Italian Job screening in San Francisco next Tues. Should be lots of fun.
I have a pipercross intake and a rogue exhaust waiting to be installed, but the weather is finally getting hot out here and I have to put new brakes on the wife's convertable before I can get back to Pyro.
Hopefully I can install them on Monday begfore the Italian Job screening.

Gr8 looking ride Gr8Brit!
I really, really like the aero kit with the chili red...I'm even thinking about modding mine with the black mesh grilles (but then again, my NEW payment coupon books arrived today, so mod thoughts are being kept quiet around my house, ssshhhhhhh!)
I'm also getting closer and closer to adding a bonnet stripe, I think I'm going with the offset wide/narrow stripe (black, natch!)
Later all!
