New Colors

So this was just announced on Motoringfile..

As we mentioned last week, there will be some significant color changes coming down the pipeline for the 2006 model year. We can now confirm (without a doubt) the following changes:

Going away will be: Jet Black, Electric Blue, and Solid Gold

Being introduced will be: Space Blue, Solar Red, and Royal Grey

We hope to have pictures of all new colors in the coming weeks and months. We'll have more '06 model year news shortly!
Cant wait to see Solar Red!

They're replacing "Black" with "Grey".... how MINIesque. Last time I checked these cars weren't supposed to be boring

So, instead of two blacks, we'll have three silver/grays?

I too look forward to seeing that solar red!

Yea, I am curious about that Solar Red paint. Will it replace Chili Red or be an addition to it? It seems to me this is a Cabrio color only.

Too bad about EB and JB. Solid Gold was a flop from the get go although I was warming up to it lately. More grays and blues? What's wrong with the picture?

If it's anything like the old Solar Red...I like it! Can't for the life of me figure out why they are introducing another gray/silver.

If they were going to introduce a new blue, they should have gone with a Tahiti Blue. The best damned color for a Mini ever. Or, maybe they're holding back for the new '07 for that color. Hmmmm....

Too many blues and grays:

Cool Blue
Hyper Blue
Space Blue

Pure Silver
Dark Silver
Royal Silver.

Green and yellow are being awefully neglected.

I like the astro black, best way to explain it is its a metalic black. Unlike some other metalic blacks the metal flake is not blue or purple it still looks black only metalic. I may have gotten it over the jet black if it was an option on an S.

I agree, too many blues and grays in this lineup. How about a non-metallic orange? How about a non-metallic green? Shouldn't MINIs be bright and noticeable and not blend in with all the BMW sedans in their various shades of gray?

Why not a REAL BRG? Instead of this metallic nonsense?

I guess it wouldn't be very popular with the business people, since it wouldn't be a what, $700?, option

Ditto that.

Non-metallic BRG should be a MINI priority although the optional version is better than none at all.

Good bye Solid Gold!
EB was pretty good.

Space Blue? I wonder what spectrum of blue that would be. Seems like three shades were needed to replace Indi Blue??!

Royal Grey (not Royal Silver) might be good- we'll see.

More colors for thought-
Solid true British racing green
Solid medium green
Metallic Candy Apple Red
Metallic Bright Yellow
Metallic Brown
Metallic Pearl White
Metallic champagne (or with lavendar tint)

Don't you read your fashion magazines? Grey is the new Black.

New Red ???

I would love it if the new red was a metallic (or maybe not metallic) candy apple, deep, dark, rich, like the lava red on my Harley. Probably wouldn't have any trouble sellng my black '05.

Can't wait to see it. When did they post the new colors the last time?
