Psst, Clover - don't look now, but they've discontinued the entire Taurus vehicle!

Irish, I'd change MAs, and let the guy know why. You don't want a car salesman, you want a Motoring Advisor. As such he should know *almost* as much about the car as you - it's his job, right?

Color - very important to me. It's the reason I own an '04IB and not an '05HB. I miss the gearing, but 'forgive' it every time I look at that gorgeous IB exterior!
I'm very curious what Space Blue looks like.

Quote: Yes i have a MA but i realized he doesnt seem as knowledgable as some of the other MAs at the dealership. He had never even heard of Motoringfile or that the colors were being discontinued. In alot of ways i know more about it than he does but i guess thats because i have been researching for 6 mths. And he doesnt seem to keep up with MINI websites like the other MAs there do. But i would feel bad changing MAs cause i have been talking to this guy since Nov. and he was the first person i talked to.
Just be very kind (and firm) and explain that you need someone who is really in touch with what is going on with the MINI and the upcoming MY change... and either he will recognize that he needs to become that person if he's going to SELL THEM AS HIS CAREER (sorry, ) or he will graciously switch you to the senior/obsessive MA.

I had this same problem when the best MA in the whole wide world (Graham from Checkered Flag) left and went back to merry old England...
My next MA was only floating until another job offer came thru and his inattention about the availability of Hyper Blue cost me about 4 weeks of waiting!!

So anyway, that's my 2c.

For anyone who hasn't seen the Astro Black compared to the Jet Black, the difference is VERY subtle. I almost feel crazy for spending the extra on it, but I think it has a nice blue sparkle to it in the sunlight and in a few years I won't have obvious swirls all over the paint since the metallic hides some small stuff.

I'm sure they will instead offer the AB on the "S" and all will be right in the world.

IMHO- Way too many blues.
Original BRG would be sweet.
LY is not bad (like the Subaru WRX blaze yellow offered in 2002...
watery P.)

That is truly sad

Seriously though I thought I'd give all you diehard color debaters a heads up - I'll have a pretty picture of something you might be interested in bright and early tomorrow morning on MotoringFile

Yeah theres 2 other MAs that i talk to and one of them (a lady) came up to me the other day and was like "so did you read on Motoringfile about the color changes" And when i mentioned that the configurator showed grey door panels with grey leatherette even on the hardtop MCS (when you really get black door panels) she and another MA knew it was an error and my MA didnt know it until i told him it was a error (from reading it here and on MINI2) and he had to double check with the other MAs.
In his defense he said he doesnt surf the MINI sites or forums cause he spends all day doing MINI stuff and when he goes home he doesnt want to bring his work home. (I said i would gladly take his job! )

I just saw this on MINI2 its a quote from someone in the states
The SN on MINI2 is "johnnyrio" and it says
"Anyway, my in-the-know MA stated:

Solar Red is basically BMW's emola red.
Space Blue is a VERY dark blue
Royal grey is in between two current silvers."

If thats true i am going to order the Electric Blue now

Besides being a gorgeous color, Electric Blue probably shows dirt the least of all the MINI colors! If I were ordering a MINI today, I'd probably get Electric Blue/Black! (Can't get completely away from the black!)

everybody check out motoringfile!!! spy shots of both Space Blue/Silver and Solar Red/ Silver. the SR looks a lot like CR, and you can't really see the silver roof, but the SB is a pretty good pic
