These were my thoughts exactly. I pestered MINIUSA just about every month the end of last year asking if Hot Orange was going to be available in hardtops in 2006. One response I got was to buy Pepper White and have it repainted...
I finally just couldn't wait any longer and ordered a Hyper Blue/White MC. One of the last thing I told my MA when I took delivery the end of March was "Just don't come out with orange now..."Jim D.
2005 MC Hyper Blue/White

my dad wants the Cool Blue in the Hardtop but that probably wont happen. Now i am curious about the Space Blue. I am ordering Hyper Blue and i wonder if i should hold off to see what it would look like
My opinion- just take the Lotus palette and apply it to the MINI! You'd get your lime green - you'd have to call it Krypton though

- Pulled off a certain sister site... haven't heard any news about puresportscar.com for a while...

Conspiracy theory:
I suspect that they are getting rid of the jet black because practically no one who wants a black MINI is paying $420 for metallic astro black when they can get the non-metallic version for no extra charge. By getting rid of the "free" option, they assure themselves that at least a few people will bite on the astro black. I also predict that they will do away with non metallic colors altogether, or at least charge you the same no matter what you get.
I really LOVE pepper white. I'm will be ordering a 2006 MCSc and I really wish PW wouldl be available.... It's not available on the convertible now. Would look great with black or dark blue leather!!!!
Astro Black is not available in the MCS. Face it, black MINIs are not that popular, but it is still surprising their decision of letting go of one of the most essential colors.
Before picking on Jet Black, I would have fixed Liquid Yellow first.

I was always also a fan of Island Blue and of Almond Green, but I'm not sure how that would go over on this more upscale, refined MINI. BMW seems to be keeping things subdued a bit. Even HO and LY are held back a notch.
Model Specific?
Does anyone know if these are model specific colors? You know... Only available on the MCS or Convertable?
I wish MINI would offer all the colors accross the model ranges.

This what Solar Red with a Silver contrasting roof may look like:

By the way, I have definitely seen two distinct electric blue non-S Coopers in Boston. I guess they're either imported, or else people are painting them. Can you get EB in Canada or Mexico on a Cooper?
I always thought that chili red and indi blue were the two colors that would most definitely stick around. I don't agree much with the direction MINI is going.
