R50/53 Last night I ordered my MINI Cooper S BRG with white.
Unfortunately, I am number 7 on the allotment list and they don't get there allotment for a couple of weeks. MINI of St. Louis is thinking that I won't get officially on the list until the end of January. The current allotment will be for February build. I will probably be a March build. I am guessing (purely) that I might get it by Memorial Weekend. I ended up dropping the leather seats for the space cloth, as I think my wife will let the dog in the car that way (Our Welsh Terrier loves to motor too!), and I won't have to worry about the claws, as much. Otherwise, I went for all three packages and for the all season runflat tires over the performance runflats. Would love to hear your opinions of that choice. I didn't upgrade the stereo, and I will install the alarm system when it arrives. I think I will get a sunroof flag, but I am not sure which flag. I have lots of time to figure that one out. I didn't get my wife completely over to the I want the MINI too stage. Which is a little dissappointing because I had to burn a few points that I had accumulated. I know that the married gentlemen understand why you want to avoid that.
Surely, she will understand. I am a little dissappointed that I am going to be waiting until summer almost, but at least I am now officially (in my mind) allowed to be part of this neat club. Thanks for letting me share.

jc - Have a similar set-up on order my self (MCS in BRG with White). I opted for the performance run-flats and leatherette... Ordered mine last May and now have a production number at least and expect delivery in February (just in time to try the performance tires in the snow
)
My wife promoted my MINI purchase - she has a VW New Beetlw, so we're going for the whole retro driveway thing...

It is going to absolutely be hell to wait this long. I am very torn between telling people I am getting a new car, and not telling them. Not you all of course, as you are my support group!

I ordered almost the same as you did...BRG MCS with white everywhere and package 1 and 2 (no need for heated seats in SoCal). I also got the performance run-flats and leatherette. I plan to swap the tires with non-run-flats when the time comes. not married here, but all of my friends have encouraged me and I'll be giving rides for a couple of weeks!
I got lucky with my order. Placed my order 9-29, went in on 10-02 and I'm expecting to take delivery by the end of next week! WOOHOO.

A BRG/White MCS. That is going to be so beautiful... and worth the wait. I love my BRG/White standard Cooper. My local dealer (Niello Mini, Sacramento) had no prospect of any BRG Mini in the S Model during early shipments, and I had convinced myself I had to have the classic look of BRG/White with cordoba leather. Niello is still going (I believe) with their modified first come, first serve, no advanced ordering sales policy. They have quite a selection of Minis, including S's available for immediate purchase. But I do not take new vehicle purchases lightly (once every 20 years) so held back and waited for the one I wanted. I got lucky with a well timed check of their web site and got exactly what I wanted. An S would really be cool! Hang in there, it will be worth the wait.

Hi JC! I ordered my BRG/White Cooper from Mini of STL on the 9th. Since mine is a standard Cooper I'll have it by Easter. I sure am glad you got the MCS so I'm not accidently trying to get in your car at Schnuck's or something! Don't worry it will be worth the wait!

Thanks all on the congratulations. Actually, was very sad last night in bed. There is something so not right about ordering a car and not getting it for 6 months!
You won't see me at Schnucks that often, as I live in Springfield 3 hours away down in the ozarks! Although I discovered Lucas Liquors Sunday afternoon the day after my last test drive. I might have to go there again soon. I wish we had a Schnucks or a Dierbergs or those wonderful HenHouse grocery stores they have in KC. Sorry didn't mean to get off topic.
You know there are certain ways that you can absolutely tell that MINI is not truly a British car company, and the first and foremost way for me was on my initial test drive I told Tony that I wanted a BRG S with the british tan seats. He said that they are not available that way. Pretty obvious right then that it was a German company! He offered me the name of a supplier that could make those seats. I pretty much was shocked. Probably why I ended up with the Space cloth seats. I can always put some nice tan sheepskins on the seats. We shall see.
I want the car so bad, I have a bad sickness!

I waited 9 months soo rejoice in your extra 3 months!! heeheh and the wait was WELL WORTH IT!!!
I went with the leatheret for ease of cleaning over the fabric
It was also a TOUGH arsed choice 4 me between the BRG and the black but i really wanted the chequered roof soo i went with the black (my cheq bonnet stripe goes on her on the 27th!! w00t!!)
enjoi her when you get her... as far as the 17" wheels goooo.... i might consider opting for the standard 16" they might be a bit more comfy for ya and the weight will dif will definately improve your gas milage there are quite a few discusions on wheels/tyres here and i would recomend looken through them all!
welcome to MCO its almost as addictive as motoring in the real deal

You're going to love your new MINI! I have the same color/model, and it's great! Nothing against the other colors, because they're all great, but I think the BRG is the most classic color for these cars. SWEET!
Welcome aboard the MCO joyride!

Congrats on placing your order! Save the color, mine is equipped similarly to yours. If your wife is like mine, she will LOVE the heated seats in cold weather!
Although my MCS is red, BRG was a serious consideration.... It is a great color!
The wait will be worth it....guaranteed!

Too funny! So what kind of fast talking did you have to perform, or do you have that one in a million wife that thought it was wonderful?
Inquiring minds must know!
I am not that brave!

I picked up my MCS BRG/W last week. Before I got it, everyone said, "Green...UGH!". Now that they've seen it, its like, "awesome..gorgeous combination". I also wanted the traditional look and kept the interior simple with black leather, upgraded steering wheel and stayed with the 16" tires. Did take fog lights. So far, this is the coolest car i've owned including my old Saab. While the wait is long, you will be rewarded.

xpcdoojk...
Be careful about considering seat covers. Part of the multiple air bag set up is contained in the outsite seat bolster. I'm sure you're advisor (salesman) will advise you of that conflict. I suppose installation of aftermarket seats might have the same consideration (air bag protection compromised). I think you will so happy with the overall package, that whatever you end up with will seem the ideal comination. But since you're build date is so far off... keep after them about cordoba leather seats!

) and the place recommended by my dealer has patterns that look like they are from MINI. I was assured that they will in no way compromise the airbags. And this is all costing me exactly what leather from the factory would cost. They had all sorts of colors for the leather, so I'm sure you could find something close if not identical to the cordoba beige.
Congrats on the order, time will fly by and this forum is a life saver! We will all rejoice when it comes in. As far as the wife goes, maybe this is rather sexist, but it seems to me that most women absolutely LOVE this car. Men look and smile, but women approach me and ask about it. Let her drive it and experience the attention she will get and I bet she will come around. And, just a word of advice...keep the puppy out until he is house (MINI) broken!
My wife likes the MINI she is just very practical. We do not need the car, this is purely lust on my part. So, the her practical nature is the problem. She wants to keep me so I bought the car with her blessing, but she thinks I am rather inpractical!
hi welcome to mco, it is a long wait. kind of like a romance first you see her then you have to meet her. boy when you try her out you have to have her. then the wait weddings take along time maybe even up to a year. you want that special one with all the right decorations. mine is a brg w/w checker top 17 wheels and leather so of course this is all going to take along time. so out goes the news and the big day is set then of course you can go see her {at the show rooms} but its not yours its only the one on display. you can have one off the shelf but it just wouldn't be the one you want so the long wait. well my wedding date has come and gone and of course i was called out of town so i have to wait just alittle longer then she will be all mine. just the way i wanted her. right dress, right wheels and a motors thats called the { S } sexy, sporty, speedy, and all mine. at the dealer now and i should get her in the january club first date was may 30th 2002
