Mother Nature Hates Me!

Just picked up my Mini on Wed. and was looking forward to putting a serious dent in the "break-in miles" this weekend. Instead, I got to test the ASC trying to go get a cup of coffee this morning. What the hell is an ice storm anyway. I just moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles - never seen anything like this. Took me 15 minutes just to get the door open!
At least i'll have a chance to browse the forums - the weater is actually supposed to get worse!??

Joey,
We're getting the same deal up here in Cincy. Fortunately, my new MCS, which supposedly left Charleston yesterday, isn't expected to arrive until Monday. Next week's weather looks a lot better. Can't wait to start motoring on dry roads.

Yeah, weather like this almost makes me happy that I don't have my MINI yet...almost. Watching my dogs walk across the patio this morning was like watching the scene in Bambi on the ice

Yep, it's pretty nasty this morning here in Atlanta this morning. I wouldn't go out if you don't have to, the roads are solid ice with no snow to provide traction. It's just started to sleet again and that's just making it worse.

BTW, you should join AtlantaMINIs. I am on the steering comittee for the group. There is no membership fee and we have lots of fun with both driving and non-driving events.

Pete,

I know you would rather not have the ice on your MCS But, that's a great picture.

It's nice (relatively) in Michigan today.

Joey, you'll think of this weather fondly when you have your first taste of the humidity in July! Just remember, there's virtually NO snow removal equipment here, so drive defensively (if at all), and relax - whenever it ices or snows around here, it almost always melts in a couple of days.

Your right,I said well placed. After an ice storm you can spend hours getting the ice off your car,or take some hot water, thaw the door handles so you can get in the car, start it,then slowly pour water on the windshield to melt the ice you could spend a long time scraping off.And be carefull of the wipers,I have seen the rubber ripped off by folks scraping and pulling on them.
Get it running, and going slow with the water has worked for me for decades of winters

Or you could just buy one of these and just worry about pushing the snow and stuff off!

I LOVE MINE! Very nice in keeping in clean and keeping the snow and rain off! Waterproof!

finally i took off the ice shell off the MINI 2am this morning. (yeah, too much party since no MINI).

It is fun to drive on the road in atlanta. all the cars has install a anti tailgater device. the ice topping on the roof will fly off on the highway.

I have been practicing realtime battle field driving!

No the mini is sitting in the middle of the parking lot to avoid the falling ice piece from the trees.

Wish this could be longer, coz it was really fun to do drift around the parking lot!
