Well, it finally happened.

Someone backed into Miss MINI last Saturday when I went to Charlotte, NC to do some running around. It looks like someone's trailer hitch hit the top of her front bumper, gouged a good 1 to 2 inch wide chunk across the top, put two gouges in the grill and creased the hood below the scoop.

Whoever hit her left without a note on the windshield, and left me with a $969.73 total repair bill with an insurance deductible of $500. THAT turned out to be an expensive trip to Charlotte!

Dman!

I feel for you. Some people are just so clueless and have no sense of personal responsibilty.
Since I got my MINI I always park out in BFE to avoid door dings... most people don't seem to care if they damage other people's property. And with these cars, its as if they hurt part of your family.

I know Miss MINI will be repaired soon and feeling new again.

BTW, I like your quote

Cheers,
Keith

Arrrgh. pathetic little worm, to damage the car of another through your own inattention (the thing was parked for cryin' out loud), and then to slink off without a trace, is the lowest of the low. Maybe there is a camera nearby that cought some action on video, it's worth calling around and doing a bit of investigating. Sorry for your damage Rev.

Albemarle. ~25 miles east.

Thing about it - now I have to fight with Nationwide.

Oh well...

Sorry to hear about your MINI. I know that hurts. It is so hard to believe that people can do that kind of damage and run.

I had someone drift in to the back of my MINI while sitting in traffic on I85 in Greenville a couple of weeks ago.
I was so sure that I would have damage but I was lucky there is only a hair line crack in the clear coat. I took it by for Loren at Import Paint and Body to look at. He said to leave it alone unless it gets worse. The car that hit me is LJ's favorite a Toyota Camry. I was lucky he had no front plate or frame and the bumpers were the same height.

I hope you get your MINI back good as new.

might what happened to you be considered vandalism? most insurance has a separate deductible when it is considered vandalism. mine does.

Yeah, people suck. I was walking into work day before yesterday and watched some shmuck in an Acura SUV clip the front bumper and side panel on an adjacent chevy SUV while pulling into a spot. Guy did fair amount of damage to his own car (serves him right). Then he pulls out and gets another spot. No note.

When I came out of work poor lady who got hit was standing there admiring his work on a cell phone to the cops. I stopped over and pointed out the guys car and left her my name and phone #. Cops called me later for info. I think he fessed up to it. Hopefully that karma will carry me if something like that happens to me.
People gotta take some responsibility. I was happy to help the putz endevour to do so.

Hope your cars better soon and a pox on the *** of the guy who did it to you.
