I just went out to drive home from work and all hell broke loose with my ride.Car won't do anything more than idle,and that not very happily.EML light on,service engine soon on,DSC light on .Any suggestions? Wow.. that is terrible.

My car freaked out for few seconds the other day on a very cold morning. Made some strange sounds and didn't seem to run properly for a few seconds. I shut it down and then started it again... and then it seemed ok. Hopefully yours will be ok as well!

it's 25 degrees warmer now than at 4:20 this morning when I drove to work,so I don't think that is the problem.

 

Did you check pulley belt is it still there?

 

it was replaced at the dealer 2 days ago.But let me go check...........yep still there.Any thing else I should check?

 

Check your battery to make sure the terminals are connected snugly.

 

It turns over and starts,it just won't accelerate.service engine soon light on, DSC light on , EML(?) light on?????

 

The only other thing would be to check connections at the ecu. The draw back to fly by wire very few mechanical things to go wrong. It starts but the input at the pedal says your not there. sounds like the ecu

 

Service MGR at MINI of Peabody called and said that his best guess ,since the EML light came on, that the car is currently in "safe mode" and that there is water in the main harness ,which he will replace under warrentee, and provide me with a rental to boot!Thanks all for the quick responses. Jock
