Best option for a 2007 MCSa with broken transmission

Hello - I have a 2007 MCSa with about 130K miles, and its transmission has decided now is the time to die. I know a new transmission runs about $9,000 (insane), but I'm not ready to get rid of the car quite yet. Are there any reasonably priced options to get the car up and running again (rebuild? used transmission?) or is the car basically done for?

Thanks guys in advance!

Also, my SIG is extremely out of date, but it seems like the option to edit it was taken away...
