As of 4:30pm EST, I'm STILL stuck at 150. Geez, they better get a move on! I don't want to miss my 1/10 production date!

 

OK All- an update! As of this afternoon (approx. 3pm ET), I'm now at "153- Assembly started"!! I seem to be on track for a 1/10 completion. Looking at the factory tour on the miniusa.com site, I don't know how it could take 7 days to assemble a MINI. But, I'm sure that time includes the post-assembly check.
Oh- and the advisor with whom I spoke (Jen) told me that the next status point after 153 is "155- assembly complete" - I'm sure in part so I didn't inquire again tomorrow!

Please note: I ordered a Cooper S and have a 1/10/03 production date. Am I the only one?

 

Sorry to hear about that Tony :evil: Hopefully this won't happen to you. I am still at a 150 status myself the rep told me that any day now my MINI should go into a 151 status.

I also live in Seattle, didn't want to wait 8 months for my car, and went through the Mini of Murray dealership, where I plunked down 2K on 12/20 and have a production date of 1/17. By the way, this is the first chat room I have ever posted on, so forgive me if I'm doing anything wrong. I can't believe I'm so jazzed about an inanimate object (silk green).

I live Olympia and I ordered for NW MINI back in July. I had just started working again and figured the wait would allow me to be financial stable enough to buy a nice play toy.

By the way it looks like a few people are getting the VR. My Mini is VR/W, Kohu'ulaMINI is VR/VR, tmac is VR/W, and CheckerStripe is VR/B. Looks like VR color option is becoming popular...my wife and I saw a VR at the dealer and we feel in love with the color. Who says VR is not a good color!!!!!!!!!!

Hey CheckerStripe, when yours comes in we need to do a photo shoot of the VR/W and VR/B. I think that would be so cool.......

I moved from status 150 to 151 after about two weeks of being in that status. Actually one week before my production date, I moved to 151 then quickly progressed to 155 in 3 days!!
It will start going quickly very soon

Yeah the rep told me that once you hit the 151 status that it goes really quik through production after that

Thanks for the words of encouragement! My MC has been at a status 150 for over a week now, so I've been getting pretty antsy! It's good to know the assembly process moves along quickly once I hit 151.

I recieved the unauthorized owners manual in the mail today. Has anyone else recieved this? I love how Mini makes such an effort to make this whole process so much fun. I've never seen anything like it before.

Yes, actually I've received two, a week apart. The first came about two weeks after I ordered the first of December '02. I'm trying to decide just exactly which shade of bright red nail polish to buy, if you know what I mean.

 

I haven't gotten a copy yet in the mail, but I've seen it online... Its fun reading!

We haven't had a chance to contact ASKMINI again because we've been too busy HANGIN AT THE BEACH!!! Gotta love livin Hawaii. But today it was cold, only hit 81 and Sunday is going to be thermal weather, temps expected to only be 79. BURRRR. Anyway, the VR is a hot color. I'm surprised it's not a favorite. Will definitely post pics when MINIhune gets here. And what's really important, I've found velvet red nail polish to paint my nails when we go to pick up our baby.

Forgot to mention, 2 VRs at MINI of Hawaii. 1 VR/B, 1 VR/W and the VR/W is a similar package to Tigger and was told destination was Seattle. Hmmm, is that you, Tigger?

I know exactly what you mean... I have the same climate issues here in Fort Lauderdale... It was only 83 here yesterday, and it's supposed to drop into the 70's today! ACK! :smile: I think we're the only warm places in the States right now!

That would not be for me. My MINI is finally on the way to me. It is on the Hercules Leader. They left Southampton yesterday. So my MINI that was born on 12/9/02, will get to almost two months from the day it was born. Long time to see my baby. The worst part was being bounced from ship to ship. But it is on the way now. I should take delivery on 2/8/02.....

Where in the Northeast are you? All of my family still lives on Long Island, so I get up there quite often (maybe I should schedule my next trip around a NE MINI meet...)

 

I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Will be moving to the Pittsburgh Area in June though. Just dropped by my dealer (Don Rosen) and there was a PW/PW outside. The owner had them put some kind of god aweful green leather interior in it. IMHO totally mismatched with the PW.

It would be cool if you could make a Mid-Atlantic Meet. We must propogate the power of PW (all readers now bow!)

 

Hey-

I'm also a 1/10 production date; waiting for a Velvet Red and White Cooper, chrome line exterior, cold weather package, premium package, Harmon Kardon, sports suspension and seats. I'll be replacing a very early build Yellow/Black Cooper. Yay!

How are y'all getting the statuses from ASKMINI? What do they need, production number? do they expect the question?
