I somehow lost a rear fender flare on the driver side of my 03 R50. The replacement part came in but no clips. I've come across a few 'correct' clips but these don't appear to match. Can anyone confirm the correct clips to attach this fender flare? This chart shows 3 different types , want to make sure I only order what I need. Thanks
Your back is different than the front of my 03, I had holes not studs. The ones I showed you may not work for the rear flare.
Clean the flares real goo and wear gloves, it's a black dye and will stain your fingers or anything else it touches. I has a wet washcloth to wipe off any I got on the paint.
These are the ones you need. The front uppermost one is a unique clip that costs like 20 bucks to get. So, best to source that at a junky yard if possible. It allows you to adjust the trim up or down a couple mm's. And if you do find one at a salvage yard, be VERY careful taking it off. Its a clip within a clip. First, carefully remove the regular pinch and push through pin clip, then carefully remove the tiny box shaped clip by also pushing in two sides that clip onto the fender. Those sides that you push in couldn't be any thinner and break easily.
Edit: I just noticed the studs in your fender...what the heck are those? Do they come out? Someone may have done a home repair to replace the clips.

Copy that, thank you, now to the Detailing section

Theres a yard a couple hours away with two R50's , hoping the rear flares are attached but will also take the opportunity to 'tinker' with a similar model and get familiar with mine without breaking anything.
Order brand new clips. That's probably your best bet to have good retention. I just bought an '02 and my right rear fender flare came off on the highway at 130km/h . I bought a new flare at a wrecker the next day and luckily it had the clips in place already. The 2002 has the same studs as your car. The clips that hook onto the painted studs are part number 51137034022. The guy at the wrecker advised me to stick a square of gorilla tape to each clip before putting the fender on- supposedly the tape will help with retention. I didn't have any gorilla tape, so I put a dab of Barge Cement on the lowest two clips for extra security.

That gorilla tape tip works a charm, the clips on the rear fender flares of my mother's 05 R53 didn't stick any longer after I had to pull the bumper cover and support for doing a bit of body work to repair the dreaded rust damage that is so common on the Gen 1s by the taillights, used the squares of gorilla tape on the white clips and saved me 30 bucks from having to get 10 new clips.
