per WW it is weekly. Check Jan 05 build thread for lots of details.

The first few pages have most of the details. Boats and weather. You may get on the same boat as mine, the Tosca that leaves Tuesday.

The web page or the phone should have your Vin number, that will let you know what boat and what day. See the WW page for info.

Good Luck!

How long after you put in the order at your dealer does the production date show up on the OL? I put my order in Jan 20th, should I be expecting the car late March or early April? Here is my spec with a pic of what it's gonna look like (no S-Lites). Also, does anyone know if you can buy just the 17" Web-Spoke wheels at the dealer (no tires)?

Mine:
Ordered: 1/20/05
'05 MCS
Hyper Blue/Black Top
Premium Pkg
Cold Pkg
Xenon
Foglights
LSD
Anthracite Headliner
Panther Black Leatherette
Alloy Patina Dash

BTW my car will picked up in Cleveland and exported to Montreal, Canada, i'm making good use of the current US$ to CND exchange rate and saving a butt load, quite amazing actually. This is my second MCS.

cheers

Amit

My future ride a.k.a. FLASH (name may change ):

thanks

Amit

I ordered Jan 3, 2004. My order and number with correct specs showed up Jan. 5. Since then there have been no changes in the order status on the website. However, when I called ASK MINI (and spoke to a real person) they told me I had a Feb. 7 production week. Still, my status has not changed on the tracking site. So my guess is that either the tracking site is abominably slow or that my MINI will never be built.

Your first assumption is correct. Website didn't list my car as started production until several days after I was told (again, by a real person) that it had started. It seems to be 2-3 days behind real life.

BTW: For those of us on the RESOLVE, we can now track it as it makes it's way across the pond:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...l?call=WCZ5535

As time gets nearer, those of us offloading in Charleston can get a little further info from this website (warning, only for the truly obsessed that have to have every little bit of information..... oh wait, that's all of us isn't it):

Don't worry about it. ASK MINI is way more up to date than the MINIUSA website. My car was finished and at the dock while MINIUSA still said it was scheduled for production.

Our MCS was do to be completed yesterday, 7 Feb. Today Ask Mini says:
"Your vehicle is being transported to port of exit."

Any other west coast US people have MINIs being transported to Southhampton this week? If so our MINIs may be shipmates for the long voyage through the Panama Canal.

What web site shows the west coast (Port Hueneme bound) ship information?

Cheers,
Dave

I ordered from Motor City Mini on 1/20 I think. The dealership said I had to wait for a mid March build. I was thinking early May motoring. But then the dealership told me that they traded a production spot with a dealership in Chicago and that it was in the 8th week. Ask Mini says the week of 2/25 as of yesterday. Anybody around that time? I hear a lot of you are a day or two early, I would love to slip into week 10.

CR/B MCS Premium, Cold - more to follow

No build date for me yet.

S Convertible
Chili Red
Black top
Black bonnet stripes
Body colored interior (love the red dash!)
Space Gray cloth
Chrome interior
Sport (with Bullets)
Cold
Convenience
LSD
MFSW
6-spd manual
Rear fog
H/K

I experienced the dreaded "Option Creep" but think I ended up with everything I'll want in order to love this car a long, long time and justify the extra $$$. I'd like to own this car for 10 years plus. Replacing an '00 Passat and '94 Miata, both of which I love.

I'm worried about all the talk of severe dash rattles in the '05 models, premature roof wear, and spontaneously-shattering rear windows. Aside from that, I'm stoked.

Dave, my car was finished on the first and has been sitting at the port ever since. I am assuming it will end up on the Carmen which is scheduled to leave Southampton on the 12th and arrive at Port Hueneme on the 4th of March. Your car will likely be on the same ship. I could not find any ships scheduled to leave any sooner.

You have a very mean (yet creative) friend.

Where did you find the call sign. I tried looking over that site and even searching the sailfx site for the Call sign of the Tosca. No luck.

Thanks. I was suposed to leave port today, but no update on the WW site. I am still waiting per the cargo tracker, but it shows the boat as departed. Hope they didn't forget about me.

LaGuna, like your car! Got to agree with you on the red dash and door trim. I have it too. Otherwise I might have gotten a different color body. I've heard some people on the sight say the red on the inside is too much. But when I saw one in the dealership like that I knew it was the one for me.

Jealous of all the other goodies you have on it.

I looked here:

http://cgmix.uscg.mil/psix/PSIX2/VesselSearch.asp

A little bit of guesswork is involved in the RESOLVED case. TOSCA might by an easier, less common name to find.

Yeah, so is my pocketbook. It's funny how you start simple, and after a few "Wow, if I'm getting that option, I might as well spend a few extra $$$ and get the package" moments, you suddenly find yourself $3k over what you had originally planned. Oh well. I usually regret not getting the extras I wanted rather than regret having bought them, so if I'm going to keep this car 10 years, I guess I'd better make it a good one.

The red dash option is what sold me on the red car. I originally wanted dark silver, but once I saw the red dash it was all over for me. Not to mention the metallic paint upgrade $$$ (ripoff!) could now go for LSD instead.

You can use Safari, but you have to hit return in the last feild you completed. The submit buttons don't work. This doesn't seem to work in FireFox.

Sorry......No ship leaving on the 12th. I made typo. Two ships leaving on the 10th, but one gets there 4 days later .

You will probably be on the 15th or 17th.
