R50/53 Bullets or Web Spokes on my CR/CR? Opinions Please!
Bullets or Web Spokes on my CR/CR (Pix inside!)? Opinions Please!
Take a look at my photoshop work here and please help me to decide which wheels to get on my CR/CR due in Feb. '05. I am having a very hard time deciding. At first I was sold on the Bullets, but now they seem a bit plain and thus I am considering the as yet fully seen Web Spokes.
Opinions requested and much appreciated!

I personally love the web-spokes. I have ordered them for my 05 build.
Actually, thank a bunch for doing the photo shop of them. I too haven't actually seen them on a car. You did a good job!
Forgive me if I am telling you something you already know, but.......I don't know the pricing on the Bullets, but if you are getting the sport package, the Web-Spokes are only an additional $500.

You are very welcome for the photo shop/chop! It does help to see them on a Mini instead of just the single wheel photo that was provided.
I did hear that the Web Spokes are $500 increase over the sport package. The Bullets are $225 per wheel and Classic Mini, where I am getting my MCS, will provide a 20% discount. Thus, four Bullets are $720 and I would sell the S-lites to defray the cost.
The benefit of the Bullets that is most important is that they are lighter. As a matter of fact, they are the lightest 17" wheels we can get from Mini.

brake dust
IMO, I like clean wheels and with stock brake pads you are going to generate an incredible amount of dust. Even with upgraded pads, I think they are going to take a long time to clean each bullet.
Simplicity is key:smile:
nice chop job!

The bullet wheels really set the car off. I'm hoping to get a hold of some for my MCS. I think they are some of the best looking MINI wheels available...aside from the anthracite grey ones that came on the MC40s!!!
I like the way the web spokes look but they will be harder to keep clean so if you do get them then swap out the brake pads for some EBC green or Mintex red box pads right away.
Tough choice Andro.
My instincts tell me that Bullets will be more exclusive than Webs, I kind of like the increased area of the Bullets too, that's what I would pick if the choice were mine.

THAT is a sharp looking car!

Thanks for the replies! Yes, a bit of a tough choice. I am leaning on sticking with the Bullets. Not only are they lighter, but I think easier to clean. Also, they are substantial looking and I think give the MCS a strong look. Now I just have to make sure I really want CR/CR and not PS/PS!

Thanks everyone for your comments. We really like the car too. I think that the Bullets really make it look good.
BTW, I also have a LSD-equipped 05 HB/B MCS due in February (it started production on December 20th and is scheduled to be completed on January 9th) which will have the web-spokes on it. I actually bought the Bullets for the HB/B MCS, but since the web-spokes were an option for that car (being a January build), I went ahead and got them for the HB/B one and just put the Bullets on my wife's PW/B MCS instead. I think that both of the wheels look really good (although it would have been nice to have been able to see what the web-spokes looked like in person before ordering them) and so either one is probably a good choice (although the Bullets weight a bit less and will probably be much easier to keep clean).
Whatever rim you choose, I highly suggest that you change your brake pads to cut down on the dust. I went with the Mintex Redbox pads and so far they seem much better than the stock ones.
