Hey guys, need some help on this on. I've put Scarlet away for the winter. I put a trickle charger but some how it got unplugged, battery was of course dead. She was running before I put her in the garage. Charged the battery, turned the key and did not hear the fuel pump engage. Put her on the Schwaben scanner, everything was clear except for the following: Starter disabled due to p/n . She does crank, but no start. The scanner also reads: Starter Enabled:NO I'm figuring it has something to do the Battery being dead and the system needing to be reset? Any thoughts?
Although you have a 6 speed, I wonder if the 'p/n' isn't a reference to the 'park/neutral' starter lock-out if either the clutch pedal isn't disengaged or, if an automatic, in park or neutral. That said, you do say that it cranks but does not start.

Yeah, it cranks but no start. Your questions makes me wonder if I step on the clutch and rescan, will I get the same message, I'll try that and see.
Okay, when I step on the clutch the "Starter disabled due to P/N" message disappears . What I do get is message stating the Immoblizer is enabled Does anyone know how reset the Immobilizer?
That's a good idea, but would it not deactivate when I put the key in and unlock the door? My key fob does not work which is probably due to the receiver in the rear-view mirror. My Schwaben scanner does state the Fob/Key is working and active. What really sux is this happening due to a dead battery.......Scarlet was running when I put her away for the winter.
I've seen, in other cars, where a disconnected or dead battery set a 'hard code' that disabled the ECU.... and thus disabled the vehicle, even though the starter may work.
MAYBE your issue?
I take it you have the factory optional alarm system in your car?

Strange for sure though. .
.
That's a good question. I have a light, and or, sensor in the middle of the dashboard towards the front of the windshield. I thought that was the alarm light, but I've read that if you have an alarm system, the light would be on the stalk? My car chirps when I unlock it with the key. I ordered the cable, should be here tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to install INPA and see if I can disable the Immobilizer.
It happens sometimes When the battery is disconnected too often, or the car stays without battery for a while. You must to resynchronize immobilisator.
This is procedure with INPA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmsG...ature=youtu.be
Cool.... Please keep us in the loop with your results and solution details !

Got the cable, installed INPA and was able to connect to the ECU. I resynchronized the Immobilizer, did not solve my problem. Guess I'll have to scratch my head for a bit and then get to some basic troubleshooting. There are a ton of cool features in INPA to test once I get Scarlet running again.
Good grief!! Immobilizer and immobilizer seed? Sounds crazy....I have a 2006 R53 and 2015 JCW Coupe - battery went dead on the Coupe this weekend, but not totally dead so I guess I was lucky.

When I run INPA and synchronize the Immobilizer Seed, it says that it was successful, yet when I go back to my Schwaben scanner. it still states the engine is disabled....There does not seem to have e an option in INPA for me to register the battery. I'm going to see if I can get another version of INPA. This seems like a whole lot of work for a dead battery. She was running when I put up for the winter

which version do you have? Recently did a post named “inpa”. Check it out
Have you checked to see which version you have? Thanx in advance...
looks like 5.0.6 when I go to “about” on the top left of home screen. When I go to “information” it says 5.00. Pics attached. Sounds like we are on the same version?
Don't need another INPA version,it doesn't help you, maybe your DME died.It happens sometimes. The solution is to buy a DME with immo of and same sw inside, or to buy a complet start kit , mean keyfob, immo, EWS, BC, from an identical car.

Not going to throw any cash at it just replacing parts. I will give it another weekend of time, if that doesn't work I'll take it to the Stealership and have them diagnose the problem for $65 and $130 to reset immobilizer. If it's just the immobilizer, they will deduct the diag fee...
