Ok I keep getting this stinking 2096 code in my 05 MCS and now my Schwaben scanner can’t clear it. At first I was getting “catalyst under threshold “ and was told it’s because I’m running a Miltek header so I bought this thing-m-jig from Outmotoring that looks like a little pre02 sensor that the rear 02 sensor screws into. Well I installed that the other day and last night the CEL came on and now the PO 2096 comes up. So is this related to the high flow cat on the Miltek or something different. Scanner shows the rear running lean and why can’t I clear the code now??
You cannot clear this code. You have to either go to dealer or purchase INPA software an cable to reset you fuel adaptations.
what.. I never heard of such a thing. I thought the Schwaben did all that but evidently not. So is tge problem from the high flow cat or something different? Thanks for the info, looks like I’ll be purchasing that. That says R56 though not R53?
Ok I just got in the car to come home and no cel light all the way 30 miles to home. I put the scan tool on and it’s still there. If that’s a hard code why don’t the light stay on? Also I looked at the 02 sensors and the front voltage was bouncing all over from .08 to .78V and the rear stayed pretty steady from .68 to.71V. Does that signal anything? Those 02s have less then 5k miles on them and are NTKs.
yeah but having lots of trouble, using Windows 10 and I’m lost with it. I had Shrevemini helping me but he’s using Vista so we were not seeing the same.
