CEL P0036 - HELP!!!!

I just finished installing a Magnaflow cat-back on the car and now the CEL is one showing a P0036 code, realting to a heater circuit. I have cleared the code but it comes on immediately and I do not want to drive the car if this is/will cause an issue. If anyone has some advice or experience with this please chime in!

Do you still have cat on your car? If you do check the last o2 sensor see if it was damage after you installed the cat-back. Or you can always buy a new sensor to fix it. If you don't have cat just buy some o2 bypass kit.

The p0036 code suggests your heater wire to the rear o2 sensor is broken or installed incorrectly or the a/f guage is wired incorrectly [switched grounds]. It could also be the heater circuit is opened internally but given you just did exhaust work I'd stick with the previous two. I found it here p0036 mini FYI, a sim won't fix a 36 code, only a 136 code.

Stands to reason the heater ckt. is open if it comes on right away. Other codes shoud take time to set. Prob. an O2 sensor. Guessing..

Second vote for a bad o2 sensor. You can drive the car fine, it won't cause any damage.

+1 for the Heater Circuit problem. Probably twisted the wiring during exhuast installation. Replace the Sensor.

Guys i need help

I have the same issue my CEL light is on, I run the scan tool and it turns out to be the P0036 code,Now it all started with my mufler i drove it to the local dealer and they told me it was my mufler that was leaking, the sugest me to change the hole exhaust system and what i did is that i installed an aftermarket exhaust system(OBX got it from ebay),they told me that that should clear the CEL.and if not it was going o be a damage 02 sensor.I drove the car to the DMV for emmision test and it fail it show that a P0138 02 sensor bank 1 and bank 2 was the problem.i went on line and got an universal 4wire 02 sensor that i had to wired my self so i did it and it turns that now the P0036 code is the problem. i checked the wires and there is a black, grey and 2 white cables i wired the cables but i took a guess on the 2 white.my CEl light turned on again,i switch the 2 white wires an the problem won't go away any suggestions cuz im going nutz with this CEL light thing.
