I've just received my order of Zymol Wax. The instructions says not to use on metalized plastic. Am I to assume this means the chrome bumpers, etc? Dont really understand what they mean by metalized plastic.

I believe they mean plastic body trim parts that are plastic but look like chrome. The wax must not be nice to that kind of fake metal finish. . . .

Where did you find the Zymol Wax at? Is it mail order only? How soon can you/should you wax your new mini? Any problems I need to know about concerning Zymol wax?

I have the chromed bumpers, and think I will just mask them off. Also, weren't you the one who posted the pic of your MINI masked before waxing. At that time, I thought it was completely crazy, but now I'm thinking that may be the easiest way to keep the wax off of parts that shouldn't be waxed. Guess it's not so crazy after all.

2shifty: I had been considering either the Zaino or Zymol. I ordered from Zymol. But I've also seen the Zymol cleaner-wax at our local Wal Mart. Really surprised me to see it on the shelf next to the Turtle Waxes and other more common waxes.

The Zymol cleaner wax is a lot different than the Carbon or the Creme wax. For instance, the storage instructions on my Zymol Carbon wax say to refrigrate after opening. If you ever have that stuff at room temp for more than about 30 minutes, you'll see why. It's a totally different composition than the cleaner wax. Also, you lightly buff the Carbon and Creme waxes BEFORE they dry, unlike the cleaner wax which you let set up and then get the little waxy shavings all over the place.

you can purchase any zymol product from Zymol.com

Davbret......you have alot more patience than I do with the masking tape....

I personally use the creme Zymol and I got it at an automotive store near my house. I have been nothing but totally pleased with the results!

I wrote to Zymol & they said that the cleaner wax is safe on new cars, if you want to use that. For locations to purchase, go here. (The link to this page is missing.)

HTH,

Jeff

ps: Appears to work great so far!
