You realize of course the ship everyone keeps hitting (the TRICOLOR) was one the CARMEN's sister ships?! It was on its way to pick up a load of MINIs when it sank.

We'll track GPS/Weather info as best we can once she ships on Saturday. Hopefully they'll broadcast info better than most the other ships seem to be!

Hi All,

First chance I've had to check in on this busy day. Saw a MINI (BRG/W) coming out of the Baltimore Whole Foods parking lot as I was about to enter. Took it as a good omen :smile: I was planning to stop by MINI of Towson on my way home for a "fix" but after that, I didn't need to.

wjklos -- Since other folks booked on Carmen are at 193, would not Frau Blüecar be as well? You are doing a fantastic job of keeping us informed. I'm certain that the other "Can't wait for's" have no such benefit. Thanks!

BTW, Leanne (my sweetie) is having no end of chuckles over this forum and our obsession.

Just checked on the tracking site. It's booked on the Carmen as it was rcvd at the terminal today. However it has an * at the bottom saying that its in waitlist status (ugh!!!). So close but.....well I'll have to keep my fingers crossed! Also, Bill, I'm in NJ. And lest I forget, thank you for everything you've done for everybody in this club (I believe its safe to say that everybody here feels this way)!

Hello all, sorry it has taken so long for me to respond. We live in MD. We went to the international car show in Baltimore on Sunday and there was a Cooper and a s there. They were getting a lot of buzz. the line to sit in the car was longer than the new Z and all the high-end cars (i.e. Benz, Acura, BMW). Everyone was just smiling at the car, You can't help but be happy. The cars there were pretty much standard but still very cute. It would have been really neat to see some of the faces if the sunroof was there!

Well I have been trying to not bother the poor tracking system since I know that Esme will be at Southhampton until the 15th. I have ordered the antenna for the car and made Louis promis me that we would go to the dealership when it comes to see how it looks. I have a pile of stuff to go on the mini whn she gets here. I think I have MOTB (mini on the brain). Last night I was drinving and kept seeing Mini's I would race up only to find that they were Civic's, Benz, and an Audi. I think even one was a caviler.

 

Ask Mini has me listed at 193, but the cargo site shows that my Mini made the Titus. Am hoping the cargo site is right and Ask Mini is wrong.

 

I am now status 182, getting ready to be put on the train to port!

 

Members of the March Club, I thought I may be able to shed some light on the delivery process as I'm a recent graduate of the February Club. We took delivery of our MCS last Saturday.

As you get down to the wire in the last couple of weeks, don't count on the Member's Lounge status to be overly accurate. In my case, the Member's Lounge info was always 2-4 days behind so ask your dealer for the current status. My dealer was great and kept me informed as we got closer.

This was the case from Awaiting Transport through En Route, At VDC and finally At your MINI Dealer. For example, I mentioned we picked up our MINI on Saturday. Well, it was just this morning (Wed) that the status changed to "At your MINI Dealer"... and we picked it up 4 days ago. Also, we took delivery 5 days before the Estimated Delivery Date.

Be patient, it's worth the wait! Good luck! :smile: :smile: :smile:

 

Sorry to lose ya brgmini! Now I am stuck with those IB EB DS CR LY folks.... while they are all nice, they just don't understand the need to be BRG.

I guess I was wrong in assuming us "marchers" were gonna find the new steering wheels on our cars. Before I ordered my car several weeks ago, the dealer mentioned it, so I had assumed we'd be getting the new steering wheels but in speaking with askmini, she stated no....can anyone confirm this? What about the new pedals? What else aren't we getting?

Gotta question... As of today, or maybe yesterday, I am a 182 status. And I see that CARMEN doesn't leave southampton til saturday. According to Streets & Trips, they look to be about 75 (give or take) miles away, so on a train, that's easily a day trip, but probably only a few hours if it goes with minimal stops.. anyway, my questions is if there's a chance me and others (ie wwwebb) may get our minis on that ship. Just think it would be perfect timing...

Also, how long do our MINIS need to hang out at the distribution center, according to the trends?

COOL, thanks MINIDean, I was liking those new extras and was getting bummed when she said no. I tried called my salesman to confirm but he was off this evening. I need to talk to him about the alarm though and see what kind of price he'll offer. I was thinking about installing myself but was concerned about the puter needing to be programmed for it so I'll see what he says. Maybe I can have them preprogram it when they do my initial programming and I can just plug and play later. Mini did say that all the cars are coming prewired now so it should be just a matter of plugging it in, although some panels may need to be removed to hide it out of the way...

Hey, I was thinking about doing the alarm myself too! I was also going to ask if they could program my car before I had it shipped to me and then install the alarm later. Let me know!
